Going in the "host" must have been given to many tasks, so the beginning wasn't the smoothest. Can't blame it in him. He was doing the best he could. Once seated after ordering drinks and appetizers we received the chowder but had to request napkins. Trying to be patient and see what would happen at dinner service, naturally we needed to ask for the silverware and a "real" napkin so we could actually consume our meal. The food was excellent. Then when requesting our dessert the waitress pushed us to use the table's computerized unit which we said we did not want to use especially since we were ordering only one item and told her we wanted to just tell her. Trying to insist again for us to use the automated unit she held the unit in front of our faces and did it I guess to show us how simple it was. Even after we said explicitly we did not want to use the this system. Then when asking for the check, once again pushing us to use the automated table top system. Knowing we did not want this. I asked for a check like "a normal restaurant" and we wanted to use gift cards. Then she explained the unit could also take gift cards. Once again I asked for a check explaining we would be using cash for the balance. Begrudgingly she abruptly handed me the check and walked away. Approximately 2 minutes later she rushed up to my side and blurted out "are you ready", seeing the gift cards and cash sitting in plain site in front of me. My explanation to the manager was, when we go out to a restaurant it is to relax and be "served". If I am to order, request other items and pay "online" then what am I leaving a 20-25% tip for? She didn't even serve our food. The manager had done that part. We go out and pay restuarant prices once again "to be served" otherwise we could drink our own liqueur serve our own food at home or pack a picnic dinner for as romantic time at the beach. And then to be treated with an "attitude" that topped the whole evening off . So if you merely want a good meal and to do most of the service yourself, this is your place. If you want actual service, I'd look elsewhere.
