I needed a replacement keypad on my HP laptop. Paul ordered the keypad, but it was not the correct color. We made a needless trip to the store since he didn't call us that the wrong one came in. Second keyboard arrived, sent back, same thing happened, including the needless trip. A third keyboard came in and I decided just to take the darker color since 3 months had now passed. Some of the delay was that only Paul needed to do the job as it was very complicated. When that third keyboard came in they waited a week to tell me that I would have to wait a further 2/3 weeks because only a certain person could do the job and he was going on vacation. During the 3 months, I had difficulty getting them to answer calls or emails, so I finally just took the keyboard and had it installed at PST on Rt. 1. The installation didn't require a person with "highly specialized skills" for the "complicated" job. It took 1 hour, it cost less, and its working fine. Too bad I wasted 3 months at Downtown Computer Services.
This is more of a Geek Squad Review. But does touch on Best Buy's customer service philosophy.I was looking forward to having my newly purchased Sony XBR55X900E TV installed today. But it was not to be. Upon my Geek Squad Tech arriving, I showed him where the XBR55X900e would be mounted. As well, I showed him the brand new, never used full motion wall mount I purchased elsewhere. Without any effort to inspect the mount or exploring how the mount attaches to the wall, He dismissed my mount as "unsafe" even though it is rated for 55" TV's up to 89 pounds, and sold by a major retailer. The Tech did offer to sell me a different wall mount off his truck, a proposition that I found distasteful. Interestingly, BestBuy offers many similar mounts with identical attachment hardware. The attitude conveyed is if ‘you don't buy my TV wall mount, you don't get your TV installed’. One positive comment for the Tech, was he remained courteous throughout our brief encounter. While the discouraging downside is the overall impression conveyed that he was more interested (as it turned out, the impression affirmed by the BB manager as well) in refunding the transaction. In fact, the attitude was rather cavalier, more so - we would prefer to refund rather than satisfy a customer. When asked for the name of the Tech’s managers, I was informed that the Tech currently does not have a manager, or any other supervision. He did volunteer that a colleague was filling the role until a manager is hired. The broader downside (which BB is eager to explore) is to ignore the impact of poor service on future sales. In my case, I was planning to replace all my appliances via Best Buy. My decision is largely influenced by the conduct of my sales representative as well as my overall in store experience. That said, given the rather lack luster service side of the transaction, accompanied by the clear implication that my business is not valued, and dismiss-able, I will shop elsewhere.

Dont know how this guy does it? I called him in early morning with a bad Macbook Air screen, He told me he was in his Miami office he could have someone pickup the unit or I could have drop it off in Fort Lauderdale or Miami. I decided to drop it off at his home office in lauderdale three hours later I got a call saying my computer was ready. Ernesto personally brought my computer to my home at around 7pm that same day. Apple had told me it would take about two weeks, another place I called told me they did not have the part in stock. Rated 5 stars for fast turnaround and having the part in stock and great service. Brought in my desktop for virus removal, they did a really good job gave me my computer in a timely fashion and when I did my research come to find out there the cheapest price in this their area, sure enough was proven right. They also left the antivirus removal software on my computer for free and took the time out to show me how it works so 5 stars on customer service as well. Would recommend to anyone!
I can't say enough about David's Computer Services. David is knowledgable, helpful, organized, efficient, reasonably priced, professional . . . I can go on and on. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this guy. It's the best value you will ever find.
David was the only computer repair guy that told me my Dell tower was worth saving. Everyone else wanted to sell me a brand new unit or wipe out all files and re-load everything. David found an overheated processor to be the cause of the problem and fixed it for me very affordably. This was a big relief because it is never fun to lose files and start all over again with another pc. I was so pleased that I brought him my old computer that crashed a few years ago and he cleared the virus and upgraded the memory for like $50. Now it works better than ever! Thanx David.....
