When a car is damaged by an accident or weather, what can be repaired and what must be replaced? Or is it time to buy a new car?
No matter whether an accident involved a freshly licensed teen or an experienced driver, knowing what to do (or not do) is essential to bouncing back.
All it takes is a little preparation to get your car winter-ready and to keep from getting into an icy situation.
All I can say is you will be sorry and I did not do my home work on this shop and paid the price and place much of the blame on myself. check this shop out before leaving your vehicle there.
This place did terrible work do not even go in the shop. They did more damage to my car than good. The paint was bad, the parts were all broken, i have to take it to another shop to fixed. They ran my battery down and my car was filthy with grease
Mike is such a great guy. He doesn't sugarcoat things and tells you how it is. He isn't one to charge you for unnessary things. He makes sure you know what the problem is before he makes a single move. Not to mention this guy is fast and hasn't made me come back once. It was done right the first time! I trust all my family veichles with him. 10/10 recommend
This has to be the worst place ever. Took my truck in to get some scratches buffed and painted. After getting home I saw the scratches was still there. They didn't even paint it only buffed it, they never call you back like they tell you they will. Finally after a month they took my truck in. We dropped it off Sunday and on Wed they called and said it will be ready after 6:00. When we got there at 6:30 they was wiping it down said it will be ready in a few hours. We decided not to rush him so we called to say we will pick up next day. We get a call the next day to say they thought we was picking up that night and locked keys in it. Wanted us to bring key because he needed inside to clean by door. We was at work and took the key in that evening and put in lock box. Here it is Friday and when we picked up truck compound was still all over it. What a mess. Not sure how a place can stay in business treating their customers like this.Would not recommend them to anyone .
Unbelievable service!!That’s the best way to describe my experience with Stewarts Automotive in Forney, TX. In short, I went to them thinking that my truck would need a MAJOR repair but it ended up to be something so minor that I felt kinda dumb about it. Grady Sr. is one of the most hard working & honest men that you will ever meet. They work mainly by appointment so call ahead of time & schedule your vehicle repair.Rey B., Forney, TX.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Customer service is not in their vocabulary - especially Deshawns. Don't waste your time here. Bought tires 6 months ago. 45,000 warranty and showing excessive wear after 20,000. Called and Deshawm said stop by and they would look at them. Immediately I'm told they need to see where it's been aligned since getting tires only 6 months ago . They said this BEFORE even walking out to look at tires! Deshawn goes out to look at tired, droves the car to a spot comes back in and does more paperwork talks to a few co workers then prints paper wirk and says sign here! I ask what is this them he says gives us permission to look at your tires when we get a chance! No one was there at all the place was deserted. So I sit and wait 10minutesbwhile two guys chat back in the back office them ask for my keys and say I have to leave. Once again his attitude voice and comments were not customer friendly at all. they're happy if your there to buy tires but not friendly if you're asking for the warranty work you paid fior! Have always used the professional DISCIUNT TIRE STORES for past many years but due to an emergency six months ago tried NTB. HERE I COME DISCOUNT TIRE. Keep your warranty NTB you're not worth my time! Stay away from FORNEY!
Buster's Automotive in Forney will have my business from now on. I had just purchased a new Nissan Pathfinder and both drivers side doors got very scratched up by a kids football helmet. I took it to Trophy Nissan and they inspected the damage closely and then quoted me $1300. I decided to get a few other quotes from other places and right away, Charles from Busters inspected it carefully and said, "hang on a minute." Came back out with some paint lacquer & a buffing rag and wiped it right off! He said it was white paint from the football helmet and not completely scratched! He didn't charge me a thing and fixed it right then and there! To me, after getting another quote and obviously Trophy Nissan trying to make a buck, it's nice to have someone be so honest & not even charge me. Thank you, Charles!! We will be back if something ever happens!
phillip 0530 is an unemployed Painter that came into my shop asking for repairs on a car someone had given to him it was very poor shape and had been parked under a tree behind a barn for years.I informed him that every repair he was requesting was over value of car and was able to talk him out of a few requested repairs. WOULD A SCAM ARTIST REALLY DO THAT?? I dont think so !!! anyway after talking with him and getting bill as low as possible to make car safe to drive he ask would we get done as fast as possible so he could get to a little paint job he had found. Wanting to help this guy he was first car done that day.A few days later he showed up to get his car.( dont forget he ask us to do his car 911 so he could go work ) ... So he comes in days late and says he didnt OK all the work that was done and he was going to pay only what he wanted and take his car!! ONE THING THAT IS VERY CLEAR AT FORNEY AUTO SERVICE & TRANSMISSION IS HOW MUCH YOUR BILL WILL BE AND WHAT REPAIRS ARE BEING PREFORMED !!! Needless to say all phillips yelling, stomping, choice words, and just plain BULLYING Didnt work for him here as im sure it has MANY Times in the past !!! Long story short his SCAM didnt FLY here .. After he did the rite thing and paid the exact amount he was quoted ( NOT BY HIS CHOICE ) The nice owner gave him 60 Dollors to go get some used tires..And this man talks TRASH About F.A.S.T. AUTO... Everyone PLEASE PRAY FOR THIS MAN!!! HE NEEDS IT
Needed service on 3 cars. We took two in hoping that we could help a new locally owned company. Being a business owner myself, I know that everyone needs help when first starting. Word of mouth goes a long way. The owner is a MAJOR SCAM ARTIST!!! He quoted one car at $1,200 and the other at $500. We wanted a second opinion on the $1,200 quote and took it to another locally owned business, Performance Tire & Services. After picking up our car (with no services performed), the owner at Forney Automotive Service & Transmission called telling us he thinks he may have misdiagnosed the problem!!! To our surprise, the quote from Performance was only $250!!!! Not only that but Performance did much more than Forney Automotive Service & Transmission quoted. Needless to say, we weren't happy that we had approved work on the second vehicle at $500. He called on Friday stating the car was complete and ready for pick up and driving so much better. Being out of town, I was unable to pick up until Monday. I get another message on Saturday morning from the owner telling me that he guesses he has a car to add to his collection since we hadn't picked it up yet. When I called him back, heated words were exchanged. Early Monday morning I go to pick up the car, more words were exchanged and SURPRISE SURPRISE my bill ended up being $625. And to add to this, he bills me for the first car at $136. HE DID NOTHING TO THIS CAR. He, all of a sudden, made some things up that he serviced to the car! Wouldn't he had told us, and billed us, this when we picked the car up!?! I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Beware of this company. They will definitely rip you off!!!! And to top it off, it's running worse than when I took it in. If you need service go to PERFORMANCE TIRE & SERVICES. I only gave Forney Automotive Service & Transmission one star because you have to give at least one.
Nothing but Positive experiences with Classic Auto Parts and the Automotive services they provide. As a repeat customer for over 10 YEARS, I have been treated fairly and with nothing but honesty, so I have no idea nor understand the above comment. If you need a personal recommendation, call me. Oh, and let's not forget to mention the knowlege this place has on classic cars. Try asking some little girl at the counter of one of those big name stores about parts for your Classic. Deer in the Headlights stare you will get. Thanks guys, B. (972) 203-0767
There are more than 700,000 auto service technicians and mechanics in the U.S. Finding the right one to repair a dent in your car door or fix an engine that won't start can be overwhelming, especially when it's an emergency. Review a few important facts about auto repair professionals and what you can do to get the best possible mechanic working on your vehicle's issues for a fair price.
Looking For Reliability
Unlike home repair services that evaluate a property, meet with homeowners and have time to prepare before their physical work begins, auto repair businesses are often asked to make fixes on the spot. If you come into a garage with a tire issue, the expectation is the mechanic will know how to correct that problem quickly.
That is why reliability is so vital when searching for a trusted auto repair shop. It may take going to several different mechanics before you find one you are truly comfortable with. Pose questions to this professional to find out what approach they will take to repair your car or what alternatives are available. Shopping around also gives you the best opportunity to find the cheapest rate or the fastest service, as some garages may be backed up with other vehicles that need repair first.
A recommended way to locate a trustworthy auto repair professional is to seek out customer reviews. Online sites offer honest opinions from real customers who have used a business. Read through this feedback to learn how a business operates and what you can expect if you were to take your vehicle there. Look for reviews about how quick maintenance was completed and if prices were fair. By learning what other people have said about a garage, you can gain a better idea if it's the right place to go when you have a car problem in need of fixing.
It can be difficult to know which automotive problems are serious enough to require expert assistance. A ripped seat cushion or broken radio don't involve safety and will not warrant enough of a problem that going into a garage is required. However, setbacks with brakes, lights and other parts that are vital to the safety of your car's driver and passengers, as well as others on the road, necessitate quick fixes. Many modern automobiles will notify drivers of an issue, in the form of a signal on the dashboard or a noise within the vehicle.
In the event of an accident, even if your vehicle does not appear to have any damage on the outside, it is generally recommended that you see a trusted auto repair professional. Internal damage may have occurred, or an important part may have been knocked out of place. Fixing these issues before driving much further can prevent further vehicle breakdowns in the future. In the case of a serious accident, a body shop can assess the problems and determine the best course of action for repairs, as well as evaluate how much they will cost.
Beyond that, regular checkups are recommended. Tires must be rotated, fluids needs to be replaced and the engine must be evaluated. After driving 25,000 miles, most auto dealers suggest having the vehicle checked out to ensure everything is running smoothly. Taking the car into the auto repair professional you trust will protect you from further problems down the road.
Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop. At the same time, be aware of mechanic scams that can impact your experience.
Preventing Trips To The Professional
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage. By handling these types of tasks on your own, you'll gain a better understanding for how your car operates and save time and money.
Along with understanding how to fix manageable vehicle issues that may arise, taking preventative measures to avoid future problems is a valuable time saver. Many problem-solving best practices are related to the seasons. Your vehicle will be in different conditions in the winter than in the summer, meaning it requires a different type of preparation.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures the vehicle will be exposed to, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check your tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
There is a common worry among many people that auto repair professionals take advantage of the general public. Because so many people are unaware of how to fix the problems in their vehicle, they are nervous of being overcharged by mechanics or worried that the improper work is being done.
While the great majority of professionals in the industry are honest, hard-working people, a few bad apples can ruin everything. You should be extra careful when first visiting a mechanic to guarantee that the price you're charged and maintenance the vehicle receives are fair.
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you are in the shop and your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill.
The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done. That way, you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
By working closely with an auto repair professional and doing some of the tune-up work on your own, you will be less likely to fall for these scams. At the same time, you'll be able to drive out with a clean and healthy vehicle, thanks to the repairs made by a trained professional.
