Windy's Pet Grooming

If your dog is your child, DON'T GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!! Let me tell you why I'm driving 88 mi. roundtrip. Joey Puckett (owner/operator) had just met my dog and was already taking liberties with him. See, past groomers have always charged me extra. They say my dog gets aggressive and it takes more than one person to handle him. Long story short, the vet prescribed meds for him to take prior so he wouldn't put himself through undo stress. Zeke has only been blind a short time and this has its own issues. Well before I knew it, Joey had given Zeke his pill. No problem. He just spits it out for me. So far, this relationship was fine by me.
Zeke is a dandie dinmont terrier. Rare and unusual looking. I always have to supply a picture because nobody has ever seen one. Well, I forgot it. I just gave Joey the best description I could of his unusual hair-do. Keep in mind I've supplied a picture all of his life and people just can't pull it off so given I didn't have one I wasn't going to be upset if he looked like a regular dog. When I arrived for pick-up my boy looked great. Usually its similar to an all over shave type thing but Joey had his top knot, chest and ear curls and skirt looking as good as could be. He informed me we would not be using the doggie pills because Zeke couldn't stand up for grooming and he had to wait til it wore off to start. Well this tells me groomers have been jeopardising my dogs life for a buck because nobody has ever told me the pills were doing THAT to my dog! All they had to say was that he NEEDED sedation. He's 11 1/2 yes. old and its common knowledge among them that that was dangerous for my dog and they didn't care. Joey wants no part of it and I'm glad. He groomed Zeke just fine on no meds. He's just that good w/animals. He has birds and things at the shop and can even sell you fresh eggs. He's got vet tech experience of many years and more as a groomer. So its like getting a groom/vet visit together at a much lower rate. He even printed me out a natural remedy for Zeke's dry skin. I feel my dog is SAFE, HAPPY and WELL ACCOMMODATED!!! Windy's is tucked away in a small quiet shopping center so if you miss it, don't give up. I made that mistake and wish I had found him sooner. Joey Puckett's got talent!

Charges were not set prior to grooming and we were made to feel that our pet had been brought in, in a completely unacceptable condition. We will not be using their services again
