Very cozy place with excellent German food, the best I had so far. Beer was great and they have most tastiest apple strudel, so save some room to taste it.
Portions are very genirous, we ended up taking some home as it was impossible to finish everything.
Excellent place to go with your family or night our with friends
After a long absence, we dined at Chalet Alpina on July 4th (2008)- looking for hot dogs but did better with wonderful Bavarian sausages and icy cold dark Spatten beer. Enjoyed it so much went again July 18th for a respite from the heat wave. Cool, dark interior with an inviting bar area. My barometer for a good restaurant is "warm bread" and good cold beer; there was both. This time, we enjoyed the Bavarian pork selections, Kessler Ripchen, pork loin, and a wurst. I had the St. Peter fish. What a pleasant surprise! St. Peter fish is a rare offering and this was fresh and delicious. Oh, yes, a secret side dish (not on their menu)- their fried shoestring onions. It is offered with their steak, but you can order it as a side - and it goes so well with the meats. We also had the spaetzle and home fries (did I mentioned we ate copiously?)-both excellent. Skpped the dessert because then we wouldn't have been able to get out of the booth. Absolutely did NOT break the bank! The place has a nice, calm atmosphere, with cheerful and attentive waitresses. The hosts also work hard to give the patrons a warm welcome. From some of the side conversations, there seem to be many regulars. Parking is easy - meters end at 7pm. Highly recommend the Chalet Alpina for quality food, service with a fine atmosphere, all at very moderate prices.

Makes you think you are a part of family indeed! Even small bar feels comfortable like your own living room. Food is great, traditional flavor melts well with innovative ingredients, portions are huge but it doesn?t feel heavy at all. Wine list is long enough and suits any taste and budget. And you feel warm and uninterruptive attention to all your needs all the time. They do amazing things to seafood and veal also nice.

The beers on tap are worth the trip alone. Nothing but German fare. The owners are always there and will make you feel as part of the family right away. The food is great and you get a lot ... good scnitzel and sausages. The crowd is mostly the senior citizen type but there is a good vibe here. Go Sunday late afternoons to hear some accordion and yoddeling! Highly Recommended!
