Biography

Dr. Alexander Gimpelevich, DO, is a board-certified physiatrist specializing in osteopathic medicine at Medex Diagnostic & Treatment Center in the Forest Hills area of Queens in New York City. Dr. Gimpelevich is passionate about helping others overcome the pain and limitations associated with physical disabilities and injuries. A competitive athlete in his youth, Dr. Gimpelevich is especially interested in sports medicine, helping patients recover from sports injuries and get back on the field.

A native of Kharkiv, Ukraine, Dr. Gimpelevich has been in New York for over 30 years. In 1997, he earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from Columbia University. After that, he moved on to New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he received his doctor of osteopathy.

Dr. Gimpelevich completed his internship at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, then performed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens.

Fluent in Russian and Spanish in addition to English, Dr. Gimpelevich treats his patients with care and consideration. He takes the time to make sure each patient understands their condition or injury and the available treatment options, ensuring their comfort throughout their visit, and offers noninvasive options whenever possible.
