had cataract surgery 2000 my vision is mono. when Dr. Gravlee, put the lens in my eyes during surgery he did not
read my chart where in my right eye I had herpes several times that left me with a scar near the carina which effects the way I see. My monovision was left eye distance right eye close up. He reversed my lens during the surgery leaving me with very poor eyesight. I contacted office manager in Fairhope and was prescribed prescription for contacts to reverse my monovision to original sight. This worked, as my vision was corrected. I wanted lazar surgery to correct this problem and was refused. I am now
85 years old, living on medicare, which does not afford me to purchase contacts anymore. therefore, my vision watching tv is double, I cannot see distance for driving. Am left in a very unstable condition vision wise. I no longer live in Alabama, and my coming back for any correction at this point is out of the question. I would never use this facility again even if I lived back in Alabama. Dr. Gravelee, in my opinion, has left me in an almost blind condition. His office staff did not take my complaint as justified. I can tell you now at this stage in my life I am handicapped with nowhere to go due to finances for help. IF I WERE STILL IN ALABAMA I WOULD FIND THE BEST LAWYER AND SUE.
I have no complaint against the docs here, however the front office staff are the most enept and rude group I have ever encountered in any business. The lack of respect and just plain rudeness I encounter AND observe with all customers has occurred during every visit for the past 2 years, not just a one time deal. I feel I am bothering them when I arrive for my scheduled appointments and then again when I check out. When I have asked for explanation of a bill amount they become very annoyed and short, as if I wouldn't understand and how dare I ask. My insurance claims have been filed incorrectly on every visit, and no attempt has been made to re-file or correct, even though I was assured it was being handled. Procedures and appointments have been incorrectly scheduled more times than they have been accurate. I have made phone calls only to be put on hold for an eternity, then someone picks up the phone to ask who I am holding for, and we start all over again. All with no apologies or even seeming to care at. This office needs a serious lesson in customer service. As with ALL businesses, consumers have a decision in who they chose for eye care and having a choice, I have made my last visit to Bay Eyes in Foley.
