Provided by Citysearch -I was in search of a good dentist for a long time, and took recommendation of my colleague who referred me to this office. I have never regretted that since this office completely changed my perception of dentistry. The office is friendly, clean, professional, modern, plus open 6 days a week. I feel comfortable here, and considering my previous trials with other dentists that is not an easy task to achieve. I no longer have anxiety when scheduling a visit and recommend this office to all my family and friends.

Provided by Citysearch -Needed a new dentist when I moved to Queens and chose this convenient office, located in the Bayside a few blocks from my office for a root canal. I went from a dentist that was old school in Albany to this new dental office.
The office was modern, very clean and easy to find . The friendly staff was comforting because I'm really not a big fan of dentists. Great dental office.

Provided by Citysearch -Recently, while visiting New York from Toronto one of my crowns fell off so my nephew suggested that I visit his dentist. I was bit reluctant at first but when my nephew called and explained my situation I had an appointment scheduled later that same day. I wanted to take a minute to thank everyone in the office for making my visit something to remember my latest trip to New York by. I found the cost to be very similar to what I pay in Toronto but the experience I had was definitely something I'll remind my dentist about again and again. Thanks again…

Provided by Citysearch -I go to Gentle Dental because of my good experiences with them. I have had to have a lot of work done on my teeth in the past, and Dr. A is the only dentist I would keep going to. I respect his attention to detail and how quickly he works. He is a perfectionist, and my teeth are better because of that. My six year old daughter recently had to have an extraction of a baby tooth done. What I thought would be a daunting experience, actually went very smoothly. Dr. A worked fast, and it was over before she knew it. I must say, also that I have never had such thorough and gentle cleanings. The hygienists leave my teeth so clean, I can actually feel the difference. I always leave their office with a smile.

Provided by Citysearch -I've found a dentist that I actually refer people to. I'm not crazy about going to the dentist, so when I changed dentists again a couple years ago I was looking for a place that had a good reputation. What really got me in was the promise of a gentle dentist, which to me sounded like an oxymoron. Dr. K is gentle in even the least likely procedures. She really goes above and beyond. She takes the time to explain the situation or procedure and always addresses the ""why"". To me this is an exceptional quality for any Dr. to have, and one that so few Dr.s do. I think that it's not easy for a lot of people to visit the dentist. When you feel confident about your Dr. and they put you at ease, that makes all the difference.

Provided by Citysearch -My teeth were so bad, I had to have 6 root canals done. My treatment coordinator sat down with me, and we worked out a treatment plan. I was going there sometimes twice a week for a year. It was a lot of work to say the least; but it was a lot of work that I don't think could have possibly gone so smoothly or have gone so well anywhere else.

Provided by Citysearch -I am the office manager at a prestigious surgeon's office. I have high standards when it comes to how I want my office running. That said, I must tell you how impressed I am with Gentle Dental. I know the amount of work and dedication, and what type of people it takes to make up an office of this quality. The equipment is state of the art and everything from the front waiting area to the very back of the office, where I was seen by my dentist, was immaculately clean. I have a very critical eye, and though I had already trusted you from your reputation, I naturally was wearing my 'office manager hat' when I came for my first visit. You definitely exceeded all of my expectations! Thank you.

Provided by Citysearch -Gentle Dental is the only dental practice I 've been to that is polite, organized and never rushing you. I began to accept unproffessionalism every time I go to a medical or dental office, because it's all I've known - even in the 'better' offices I've been to, this seems to be a standard. Everyone working at Gentle Dental has a pleasant and respectful attitude. They are always accommodating and completely professional at all times. The treatment there is of the level as what you would expect from a top medical facility ; definitely a breath of fresh air

Provided by Citysearch -Always amazing work and a great staff! It makes going to the dentist a pleasure !! I never thought I would say this, but I love my dentist.
They take such great care of me there. The procedures never hurt because they use dental laser!!!.
The staff is AWESOME and nice and the place feels like home, so you feel like you are getting your own personal treatment and not lost in some huge office, hygienists are always so helpful and kind with your care and they treat you with kindness and
the utmost respect.

Provided by Citysearch -As a patient of Gentle Dental for close to six years, I can honestly say that the service and care that myself and my family have received has been consistently top rate. In all of my experience here, and with all of the work I have had done, they always treat me and my family with the most professional and caring attitude. The front desk staff is always accommodating, and the assistants and hygienists have been so good at putting my kids at ease; Especially my youngest son; when I brought him in for his first time when he was two, they made his visit so positive, that he has no anxiety when coming for regular visits now. He literally skips into the room! What I like best about the dental office is how attentive the dentists are. You really feel like you are in good hands when you are there

Provided by Citysearch -I was self conscious of my teeth, and got used to covering my mouth when I smiled. I almost cried when my teeth were finished. I couldn't believe that I would ever have such a beautiful smile. My new teeth took years off of my appearance, and I am definitely not covering my mouth when I smile any more.Thank you Doctors and staff of Gentle Dental.

Provided by Citysearch -After trying Gentle Dental, I now see why people are so timid of trying a new dentist. After booking a same day appointment, the doctor himself told me over the phone he was looking forward to seeing me. My last words were ""I just really would like to get a cleaning.""
The staff would later make sure I wouldn't get it.
During my visit, the confused hygienists practically tripped over each other as they shuffled from room to room. At one point, the office manager, while addressing me, turned to one hygienist and sternly reprimanded her before slamming the door in her face.
After about 15 minutes of extensive xrays (the only positive here) I waited nearly a half hour for the hygienist to enter. An Asian girl named Jessica.
She told me she would perform a periodontal disease check with a probe. One through three meant safe, anything higher was need for concern. She quickly ran through my teeth.
""Four, four, five, five, four, five, four, five."" It was like bingo double speed.
Then, she left.
In came the office manager, pressuring me to start a scaling procedure (i.e., to remove tartar below the gumline). I told her I am on birth control (Loestrine 24) and that is the probable cause of my inflamed gums. She refused to listen to my concerns and continued ""So, we'll start now, okay?""
Not!
Needless to say I did not let them to the procedure that day as I got the sense they just wanted to slam Aetna with additional charges.
I had another doctors office call and request my xrays instead and I will be going to another doctor after a stellar recommendation from my boyfriend.
I'm in my late-twenties and I've never had a cavity. My teeth are perfectly aligned and winter white. I brush and floss twice-daily. I am very suspicious of any dentist that does not accentuate the positives of your mouth (no cavities, sensitivity) and goes in for the kiII on a procedure that can wait for another day.
If you want a painful, unprofessional, car-salesmanship like pressure of a dentist then try Gentle Dental.

Provided by Citysearch -My husband and I both went there a year ago. On first check up, we both have periodontal disease. That was weird, but we both got the treatment. We do not have insurance, so I put both treatment on Care Credit, a medical credit card with high interest. (Which I'm still paying off.) We've moved and have a new dentist now. When our dentist called Gentle Dental for our dental records, he was met with resistance until my dentist pointed out that we have a right to see our files. When Gentle Dental finally faxed over our ""record"", it was only our chart with gum pocket measurements. No notes from the dentist or treatments they have given us. Amazingly, my husband and I both have all 5's for all our teeth. That is not possible and it leads me to think what is Gentle Dental hiding? Why make up charts for my husband and I? What don't they want my new dentist to see?

Provided by Citysearch -This office is great. It's a bit of a commute for me coming from midtown in the city, but it's definitely worth the trip. I've been working with the dentist for over 2 years now, and it's been a completely different experience from my last dentist. With my old dentist, I used to sometimes get panic attacks & end up canceling my visits because it would always be very painful no matter what i was getting done. But now with gentle dental, I'm actually NOT scared to go to my visits. As corny as it sounds, they make me feel like family & they actually do everything to make me feel comfortable. Plus, they use a laser instead of a drill, so it's rarely painful. I have my husband now going there & my mom. I highly recommend them.

Provided by Citysearch -New patient of Gentle Dental and am very happy. Have been looking for a good dental practice for quite some time now, and im comfortable to say that I found one. The practice was pretty much exactly what I was looking for. The staff is extremely helpful and take great care for you. I was taken back by the comment suggesting the doctor doesn’t dedicate time to the patients. The doctor spent a lot of time with me, on all of my visits. Most importantly, the actual dental work was great… didn’t feel a thing; they are good at what they do. Other than that, the office is spotless, and they have equipment others just don’t. They actually opted to use a laser instead of a drill for one of my procedures… something I never came across in my time spent hopping around from office to office. Overall, I can say I found my dental practice.
