My two 1 year old dogs stayed in a regular room from 7/21 - 7/24. I was very nervous about leaving my 2 dogs for the first time, and made that very clear when calling around. I turned down the first 2 kennels I spoke with, simply because it left me uneasy. After speaking with JJ on the phone at Baronwood, I instantly felt more confident about the decision to leave them for the weekend. However, when we checked in, she was much less personable. She did a very "by the book" intake of their belongings (a few toys, bones, meds, pet bed) and took the dogs away without offering to show us the kennels, or even playtime for an extra fee. She told me it's easier if we just leave, "like leaving a crying kid at daycare" My 11 year old daughter cried and wanted to cancel our weekend trip and go back to get them. I had also asked about (was not offered) grooming for the day they would be picked up, and was never asked anything about shampoos, conditioners, or extra services. Their teeth and nails looked good, but they did not smell good and their coats still felt dirty. Upon picking them up my Shepherd mix nervous peed on the tile floor and it was dark yellow and had a strong odor. When we got home both dogs emptied half of their 3 gallon water bowl. They were dehydrated.
After reading all the positive reviews, I am extremely disappointed that we were not extended the same services and concern that a lot of the customers seem to receive. Will not use again, will not recommend. I gave two stars simply because I got my dogs back safely.
