Strongly urge to AVOID this place at all costs. Had the worst car repair experience of my life here. Leadership is astoundingly incompetent and greedy, and mechanics are not provided with the necessary training or equipment for the job - not at all what you would expect from a professional repair shop. The general gist is that my A/C was broken, I was provided 3 separate estimates: each with a different price and diagnosis, the repair job lasted one week before breaking, and they wanted to charge almost double to actually fix the issue that should have been fixed in the first place.After getting a distasteful sense for the dishonest, unethical business practices of Car-X and it’s senior staff, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I filed a dispute with my credit card provider, wrote a five page letter including documentation of the inconsistencies, as well as a written statement from the mechanic that did the original inspection - clearly stating his findings and the reason that the “Evaporator Core” was indeed the issue and that replacing it was the most cost-effective route. Now, about 5 months after the original visit, the dispute has been resolved in my favor and Car-X did not get a dime from me. I hope that anyone who reads this will heed my advice and steer clear of this place and it’s greedy, dishonest, incompetent owners. If by some chance you are reading this too late, hopefully you paid with a credit card and can dispute it like I did. It boils my blood to think that they have likely gotten away with scamming people like this countless times. After researching and talking with friends that have dealt with them, it seems many people have experienced shady business dealings with them as well. This company obviously does not care about maintaining a brand of integrity. They refuse to own their mistakes and make situations like this right. Save yourself money and the headache of dealing with dishonest people, STEER CLEAR of Car-X.

For some 13 years, my wife and I have gone from recommending Surber to distrusting him. In the recent past, his charges have gone from fair to excessive. Of concern is not only the amount of charges, but the types of add-on charges that a customer would not anticipate or consider fair-minded. For example, $47 added for car battery instillation. Courteous questions were often met with sarcasm. Appealing to Surber's sense of fairness was coldly rejected. However, our stated intent to seek consumer protection resulted in Surber dropping a couple of key add-ons. This made the bill a bit more rational. Please beware.
Great mechanic!Didn't b.s. me on a simple issue of being "out of gas"! I had just bought a vehicle used from dealership that never bothered to tell me gas Guage broken! It stated full! He could've easily told me anything but he told me the truth! Praise to him.
Not impressed! Had our car towed 3 weeks ago without a word from them! We had to call and get the diagnosis and then asked them to give us prices for a new motor. Well clearly we've heard nothing from them. They must be to good to take our money with their dealership prices. Needless to say I'll be taking my car elsewhere and giving my money to someone who for 1 is willing to work for it and 2 who knows how to work the phone. If I could give negative stars I would!
I am currently sitting in car using their wifi because I couldn't wait to inform other of how terrible and unprofessional their work is. I came in for an oil change and to replace one bulb in the headlight and I've been sitting here for 2 entire hours while not one single mechanic even looks twice at the car. I had an appointment made for a reason. First come, first serve. I have watched 3 different people come in an get services before they so much as plugged the headlight back in so I could be on my way. That's all it would take. Save your time and money. Don't bother. Might as well go to the Midas across the street.
The worst place to take your car! They have a automotive tech last name "Sansom" who rummages through your vehicle looking for valuables. And the sad part is he's not smart enough to put anything back in it's place so you wont find out. When I left after getting my vehicle serviced. I had to pull over and start putting away stuf. Luckily I didnt have anything worth valuable but it's the point I shouldn't have to do this. The management is unprofessional and nonextistent. Manager and Assist Mgr are more of hangout as friends. So the employees do whatever they want. Beware if you take your car in they do have dishonest employees working there thats gonna go through your car...doesn't that make you feel giving your hard earned money to someone like that.
The workers search through your car I guess looking for vaulables. When I left I had to pull over and but stuff back. They even pull out items in areas they weren't working at. There a blonde head guy in his 20's real bad about going through peoples cars. If you go there don't leave any of value of importmant information around...
I took my car in to have them look at my brakes because when I got my tires rotated that company said my back brake pads looked low. I took it to car-x and Mike told me that I needed all new brake pads and rotors ($1300!!!). I told them I would check around and would be back to pick up the car. When I got there MY BRAKE PAD SERVICE LIGHT WAS ON! I didn't even know I had that type of service light on the car. They said it was on when I dropped it off...they refused to turn the light off and said he wouldn't unless I got new brake pads. I have never in my life met a more dishonest guy. There are so many companies you can take your car too...PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOYR TIME HERE....I took it to another company and they said I needed back brake pads only ($250!!). DO NOT LET THESE GUYS ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR CAR...PASS THIS ON TO ANYONE ELSE YOU KNOW.
