When making my appointment I was asked by Safelite Florence (unsolicited) if I would like them to do the safety camera calibration. I asked if they had the right equipment and did they know how to do it. They responded 'yes'.
After installing the windshield the installer spent about 15 minutes trying to calibrate the camera and ultimately gave up saying they could not get the camera calibrated. The major problem was they sent me on my way with errors and warnings appearing all over the dashboard because the particular safety equipment was not working; as a result of what they had done to the board computer. Telling me I would need to see a dealer.
I had to then take it to the dealer to get the mess they created corrected. It took the dealer a couple of hours to reset the on board computer and get everything back in order. Was advised that Safelite had cleared out all the calibration rather then re-calibrate the camera; leaving the safety equipment useless.
My advice is DO NOT let these people calibrate your safety equipment like the lane departure and collision avoidance camera. DO NOT LET THEM HOOK ANYTHING UP TO YOUR ON BOARD COMPUTER. THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
In my case I had to deal with the serious problem Safelite Autoglass created in my car. This saga began at 8AM and finally ended at around 4:30pm; a whole day of my time spent on addressing the mess Safelite in Florence created.
I don't think I will ever go back to Safelite. For them to uncalibrate the equipment and then leave critical safety features not working is inexcusable and speaks to their quality control.
The dealer said it would have been better for Safelite Florence to have never touched the on board computer; at least the equipment would have still been working since the camera is typically not disconnected from the car during the windshield install and as such the settings are saved.



Terrible Service!

I called Safelite to get a quote on a windshield replacement after calling two other companies. They originally quoted me $315, but dropped their price by $90 after I told them that their local competitor only was going to charge $245. I hesitantly scheduled an appointment, only to realize that the appointment time wouldn't work for me. I called back to cancel because I wanted to do more research before I decided to throw out $225 to a company who was unwilling to offer me honest pricing to begin with. I was given a very hard time when I asked to cancel my appointment, and had to speak with a manager just to verify that the cancellation had actually been recorded. The manager was short with me, and didn't bother to offer an apology for their pricing strategies or poor customer service.

In short, I'll never do business with this company. Poor customer service, extravagant pricing, and insincere management are a clear indicator of a business that I have no desire to support.
