Server was great! Food was NOT authentic Italian and I'm questioning if it was even Italian. It was loud. Not a good place for a romantic meal. My "chicken marsala" (was not cooked in traditional wine sauce and clashed with the red sauce side pasta) was overcooked so bad, I couldn't chew it. They did bring out a less overcooked breast, but then took my main plate away with my sides on it. My mouth was full so what could I do? Very loud, whether it's staff dragging trash along the brick floor or patrons. I can't stress enough how loud it was. My dining partner enjoyed his Chicken Alfredo. I tasted it & found the chicken to be tough and bland sauce. $41 plus tip. No alcohol. Canoli's were good, but not authentic Italian style. I wouldn't say not go here, but I would not choose it as a date spot. Frankly, there's an Italian chain that's better and that's not a compliment to either establishment. It's not quaint. It's not cheap. It's not authentic. I'm not overly harsh usually, but they don't deserve a better review. Another complaint was how unclean the bathroom was. The door lock was broken and advertisement on the door made me think I was in a club, not a supposed quaint Italian restaurant in historic downtown Florence.
So much better than Franks Italian in Tuscumbia! This place is so worth the drive over the bridge to downtown Florence! I love the duck and sausage pasta and the fetticcuine (sp?) you can totally taste the quality of the pasta! No cutting corners here! I love the fast friendly servers who have an upbeat attitude and are not offended if you ask for something a little diffferent (Frank's Servers and Frank have such an attitude if you ask for any little change). I so appreciate the service and the food! It is my go to place for Italian when I don't want to cook!!!! Thanks for having such a great place!!!
