Avoid at all cost if you want your loved one treated with respect. We recent used Swansons on recommenation to handle my father's cremation and after nearly 2 weeks of lie after lie every time we called, we ended up dealing directly with the crematorium in Yipslanti that Swansons outsources to and we're able to lay my father to rest. They still owe my mother 200 dollars worth of death certificates that according the county office, they never even requested. They caused out family unneeded emotional stress. We are having our lawyer ensure that this situation goes on file. If anyone has issues, make sure you let the licence board know, the only way these ungrateful crooks will get shutdown.

This man is Satin himself! He is a disgrace to his fathers name and company!! I can't even begin to explain the horror that he put my family through! First off, my fathers body never showed to his own funeral because he wouldn't except our check (we live out of state) and never told us his other payment options until the day before the funeral. Secondly, when we finally did try to pay him his balance in the manner he asked for, he wanted to charge us the same amount as if a funeral service had actually been performed. He also tried twice to take money from my account without authorization. After it was declined for one amount he kept hitting the card for lower amounts until the account was locked and red flagged by security. He did this all on the same day that I had instructed him not to run that card because he had already locked up $1200 on it. I told him that when I got out of work, I'd run to the bank and transfer funds from one account into the other so that he could be paid all at once. He is so greedy that he couldn't wait the 2 hours I had left in the work day and he kept trying to take money without authorization. Did I mention that all of this took place with NO SIGNED CONTRACT!! He didn't get that to me until almost a week after my Fathers funeral (or memorial service- with the lack of body). He calls my phone cussing and yelling about his money that he LOCKED HIMSELF OUT OF BY BEINF GREEDY!! The man is a nightmare. Forget the fact that we are grieving, all he cares about it receiving payments for services he never even gave! RUN RUN RUN!! Paridise Funeral Homes in Lansing Michigan is MUCH BETTER.

I am familure with the service Swansons used to provide. My step-father was buried from there years ago. The facility was clean and well maintained, the staff was well dressed and professional. What a difference 10 yrs has made! The building shabby with stained, worn carpeting. The grounds look as it the place has been abandoned. The director, Mr Swanson is trying to wear the same tux that he slept in and that fit 10 yrs and 40 lbs ago. He looks unkept. They used to have a privacy screen to shield the loved ones when they closed the casket, they don't anymore and that makes it hard on the mourners. The pricing is deceptive and if it had not been for the assistant stepping in, we never would have gotten my son in the ground. Thank you so much. The option to move your loved one has been taken care of also...there is a $1600.00 charge!
