I made a point to go to this wonderful bakery and had the best slice of German Chocolate Cake that I have ever had. If you have never been to this bakery I would make a point of going. I also agree that the owner was the one of the nicest people that I have meant and makes you feel at home as soon as you walk in. I only wish that they were open before 8 so that I could stop and get something on the way to work.

Provided by Citysearch -I read the review by mrwholesale on my way to Flint from NY. I pulled up from across the street and said ""oh no"" . I wont judge a book from a cover ever again . I enter the bakery and met Evelyn the owner. She is warmest baker in the world. The place was spotless and smelled soo sooo good. I order dozen goodies and saw this lemon ice cake and said no(i am on a diet). she insisted i have on on the house. I got in the car and took a little bite and ended up eating all of the lemon ice cake. Visit this place you will never be disappointed

Provided by Citysearch -Hello my friends,
I just had a chance to stop in the vehicle city downtown, (well it use to be anyway) and I can see that they are really trying to do something positive! As a young boy I can remember when we planned our day around going downtown, catch a movie, shop till you drop (well me anyway, because mom dragged me along, and I had to carry the bags). Then we would grab something to eat from Halo burgers, or The Coney Islands!
Well after having to show up for a court date (supporting someone else, not for myself), we decided to drop into this little hidden, almost forgotten restaurant. After entering with a small portion of my family (7) children total. We were immediately taken by the great smells coming from there!
The owner Ms. Evelyn, then treated us like she had know us all of her life! She rolled out, (do you get it, rolls r ready ?) the red carpet. You would have thought we were rock stars ( well I may have thought that)!
As we ponder on what to order, she gave us a free sample of world famous white potato pie! Words do not describe the trouble our taste puds were in at that moment! It was so good, I am ordering one (well maybe 3?) for our holiday dinner .
Someone needs to tell the world, if the downtown development wants to reallt turn around Flint, they had better realize that they have a goal mine sitting on the corner of 111 E. 3rd St., because someone will snatch this woman up, with here fantastic cooking, and customer service skills!
Ms. Evelyn, my family will never forget how great you made us feel, and the great food. You made us feel like there is hope for Flint, Mi., more companies need to copy what you offer in so many ways!
