HORRIBLE SUSHI! We tried to eat at Koko's tonight and were very sorry we did. The sushi had a VERY strong vinegary taste that I can't get out of my mouth an hour later! We tried each type we ordered and they were all HORRIBLE. We (nicely) told the owners, an older Japanese couple. They flatly told us that their sushi was "Number one!" and we didn't know how Japanese sushi should taste. We tried to explain about the very strong vinegary odor and taste but they yelled at us and turned and left! The waitress was very kind and apologetic but of course it wasn't her fault. She offered to have more sushi made which we reluctantly agreed to. While we were waiting, the owners keep peeking around the corner and giving us dirty looks! After about ten minutes, the waitress came back and asked if we wanted the check. We never did get the replacement sushi but we weren't expecting it to taste much better so that's okay. We were only charged for our drinks. Just before we left, my husband said he noticed one of the owners yelling at our waitress. I hope she wasn't in trouble for not charging us.Please note that this is certainly not our first time eating sushi. We've had it in very authentic restaurants in San Francisco, and in 7 or 8 restaurants in Jacksonville. We've also researched how to make it and have made decent sushi ourselves at home. Maybe a strong vinegary taste is accepted in Japan, but we are not in Japan, and it is completely unacceptable for the owners to berate the customers!!The clincher was this --- as we were leaving the restaurant, the elderly male owner was standing behind the bar and said, directly to us as we walked by the single word "SHAME". My husband, son and I all heard him and all heard the same word so we're sure that's what he said, especially after all the dirty looks.Obviously, we do NOT recommend this restaurant!!!
