Seldens Customer Service is impeccable

We recently downsized to a smaller home and therefore needed the right furniture to make just the right statement.
I worked with my designer Shelby Davies (the best in Olympia) and she partnered with Pat Kellerman of Selden's. What a team! These girls pulled things together that would have taken me hours to do. They kept my husband busy with a football game on t.v. and some snacks...I mean who does this?? At any rate, the expertise and knowledge that sales associate, Pat Kellerman had was fantastic.
Selden's is my favorite place to shop for furniture. They have such quality and service and go out of their way to make you happy!

Pleasant and professional

The delivery guys were fantastic. Ours was not an easy delivery, our driveway is steep requiring them to carry all the pieces up the driveway and then up to our living level on the second floor. They were so careful not to damage the furniture and the walls, having to make a difficult turn on the landing with a very heavy sofa. They were both very pleasant and professional, oh and I will add it was raining that day. We want you to know how very much we appreciate the great service your staff gave us. KUDOS to all of them. We have been Selden's customers over the years and we will certainly continue that practice.

Purchased them by phone

My daughter and son-in-law recently purchased the Coventry Dinette Set. The set only had four chairs in the RUSH seats. For a housewarming gift, I was hoping to purchase an additional two chairs to complete the set. When I called your store, I was told that yes you in fact do have the two chairs I needed. I immediately purchased them by phone. It turned out that the computer was misinformed and what you had were two upholstered chairs. These did not match my daughter's set. But, Mary went above and beyond what an ordinary salesperson would do. She called the manufacturing company and was able to persuade them to make two seats in the RUSH finish, even though the line was discontinued.

They took the time

They not only spent time to get everything centered and in place, they took the time to move it around a bit until it was exactly the way I wanted it. I suspect they must have detected from the expression on my face that something wasn't quite right for me, and one of them asked if he could make a suggestion. He suggested moving things around just a bit. I figured it couldn't hurt to try it, and he was absolutely correct. I am happier with the configuration he suggested.

Very good at what they do

Joe and Peter were considerate, respectful, knowledgeable, careful, and just very good at what they do. They not only saved my husband and I some back-breaking work with trying to move furniture around, but they did it all with a genuine smile on their faces. I tend to have high expectations, and these two young men not only met my expectations, but far exceeded them. I would like to nominate them for any award that your organization bestows for outstanding customer service. They are a big asset to Selden's Furniture!

Very appreciative

We have spent a lot of our earnings on our home, perhaps disproportionately; but I smile when I walk through my home. We are very, very appreciative her.

Attention to artistic aspects and detail

Lindy has understood our style, needs and financial pacing. She led our project by balancing the provision of great choices and the sharing of her opinion. We have learned to truly value Lindy's opinion. She knows what we want often before we can figure it out! Her attention to artistic aspects and detail has been of central importance.

Taken care of

They noted that one of the glass shelves on the hutch did not fit in the wood slot just right and said they would put it in their report and someone would contact me (I got a message last night that someone wants to come out to get it taken care of).

Such a joy

It has been such a joy to work with Lindy that I have felt compelled to write to you to express our appreciation. For three or four years Walt and I have been working with Lindy as we have been completing the furnishing and interior design of our home. From draperies and furnishings to accessories and wall painting, Lindy has lead us in perfect choices with her expertise, knowledge, and connections.

They brought pads for me

I had asked if they would mind tipping the heavier pieces up so that I could cut and place furniture pads on the bottom of the pieces (they were delivering a very heavy dining table, heavy two-piece hutch, and six chairs). They informed me that they brought pads for me and would install them for me, and they did just that. I was thinking that was great

Very considerate

To begin the experience, they showed up within the two-hour time frame that I was given. When they arrived, they came to the door and introduced themselves, assessed the spot in my home where I wanted the furniture placed, and met my dog—asking her name and petting her so they put her at ease from the get-go. They asked if it was okay if they left the door open while they went in and out getting my furniture set up. They made a comment about the condition of my wood floors (I just had them refinished) and they protected them well.

Very pleased!

Our home and its design have always been very important to me. Maybe I place too much significance in its appearance, but it has been thrilling to see the house come together, plan by plan . . . piece by piece. This is where we are most comfortable, where we choose to be. As we near completion, I am often struck how pleased we are at the outcome.

Talk about the extra mile! These guys are stellar!!!!

I had some furniture delivered that I purchased from Selden’s Home Furnishings. There were two delivery people that came to my home that day. I know only their first names: Joe and Peter. I would like to share my experience with you that I encountered with these two young men.

Thanks a million, Lindy!

It has been such a joy to work with Lindy Bloedel Fleming that I have felt compelled to write to you to express our appreciation. For three or four years Walt and I have been working with Lindy as we have been completing the furnishing and interior design of our home. From draperies and furnishings to accessories and wall painting, Lindy has lead us in perfect choices with her expertise, knowledge, and connections.

We have learned to truly value Lindy's opinion. She knows what we want often before we can figure it out! Her attention to artistic aspects and detail has been of central importance.
Additionally, Lindy kept us focused. When I'd tend to randomly bounce from project to project, room to room, she would skillfully re-direct us to complete rooms in a logical order. This kept things a little more sane and sensible.
Lindy's organization is also top-notch. On two occasions Lindy had a florist, an upholster, then a wall artist line up at our home like an airport traffic controller lines up planes ready for landing. We were able to coordinate several projects in an evening. With our busy schedule, this coordination has simplified our projects.
Our home and its design have always been very important to me. Maybe I place too much significance in its appearance, but it has been thrilling to see the house come together, plan by plan . . . piece by piece. 100% Satisfied

I had heard great things about this store, but was hesitant to walk in, thinking it was out of my league. Wow!! BEAUTIFUL store, Beautiful furniture, and Excellent customer service.
What I like best are the Staff Designers that took the time to sit down with me, and discuss my furniture needs. I was able to tell them the colors of my decor, what I liked and what I didn't like (and what I could afford). The Designer was able to translate my needs into a b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l sofa, ottoman and end tables with one wave of her magic wand! Very knowlegeable, Very talented staff.
Also- another bonus to the shopping experience was that there is a ""kid room"" where kids can be entertained while parents shop. They also had a fun little deli that came in handy when the hubby got cranky.
Furniture was delivered quickly. Full-service assembly. (They even took the time to add the felt to the bottoms of the furniture legs)
I Highly recommend this store to EVERYONE! Will definitely go back for more

This place stinks

When I visited this place while looking to furnish my new home, I encountered ugly furniture, poor selection, and rude and uninformed sales people who were not willing to do any work.

In spite of that, I placed an order, letting them know I might want to cancel part of it. I was told there would be a 30% restocking fee on the items I cancelled. When I called to let them know that I wanted to change the order and I would pay the restocking fee on the parts of the order I was cancelling, I was told that I could not do so, I either had to take it all or none of it.

I wonder if they are in financial trouble? Why else would they try to force me to buy furniture I didn't want? Good customer service is service that makes customers feel good about the establishment. There aren't enough words to say how bad this place is.

Other furniture stores (Crate and Barrel and Dania) charge either no restocking fees or 10% restocking fees. The other stores are much more flexible with returns and provide a much higher quality of service as well as a better product at a better price.

I highly recommend that you shop elswhere, even if it means going to Seattle.

making possible the impossible

my husband and i wanted the computer in a common area, since we have 2 young boys. the only available spot was in the dining room. the computer area would also be the first thing guests see when they walk into our home so we wanted something nice, not cheap looking. we also wanted to get a kitchen table, chairs, and a bookcase that would match the computer table (in style and wood color). after going to several furniture stores in the seattle metro area, we thought it was impossible. we found a few pieces we liked, but none of them matched.
we decided to go further south to check out the bassett store in fife. boy are we glad we did! when we walked in, we immediately saw furniture sets we liked-ones that had simple lines and were classic in style. my husband liked that we could custom order the kitchen table and chairs (wood color, type of table top, style of legs, etc). the best part was that we found a computer desk and book case that matched (in style and wood color). we couldn't believe our luck! we decided to go to another bassett store in the area since they are all indiv. owned to see if we could buy the set at a cheaper price. the other store had prices that were higher (even with the ""sales"") and the salesperson couldn't answer simple questions (like, ""what color is this top?"").
so, we went back to the bassett store in fife and called it good. the furniture is delivered and assembled right in the home, so we didn't need to bring a truck or tie-downs. if you do decide to go to the store, ask for michael. he's an older gentleman with an irish accent. he was easy to work with, honest and very upfront. my husband and i are already excited about going back to pick out a new bedroom set!
