Valarie McCants has 32 years of experience. She holds a bachelors degree in Sociology from North Carolina State University; a Masters degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Valaries father served 30 years in the military so she has personal experience and a heart for active duty military and veterans. She has worked in a variety of settings in the Fayetteville area including the community mental health center; as a consultant and provider for area nursing facilities; a child/adolescent clinic specifically for military dependents; a consultant for veterans and for military families facing the challenges involved with being in the military and with deployments. Valarie also enjoyed working with Head Start for six years. She initially was the Family Service Supervisor before becoming the Head Start Director. Currently Valarie is a Counselor for the Center for Personal Development at Methodist University. She is also a Certified IMAGO Therapist which means she has a passion for and specializes in working with people who are interested in strengthening their relationships, minimizing conflict and deepening their connection with each other.
