Business Description
Grady T. Allred Sr., the founder of K & W Cafeterias, entered the restaurant business as an employee of a small restaurant in Greensboro, N.C., known as the Carolinian Coffee Shop. Sometime later, the initials K & W were adopted and K & W Restaurant was established. Allred became the sole owner of K & W Restaurant in 1940. When fire damage forced it to close for several months, the restaurant underwent repairs and restoration. When it reopened it was as a restaurant/cafeteria combination. Allred eventually converted the unit entirely to cafeteria-style food service. From the original restaurant establishment, which seated 110 people, K & W has expanded to nearly 40 cafeterias and more than 2,500 employees throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. Menu items include salads, entrees, vegetables, desserts, breads and a variety of nonalcoholic beverages. K & W Cafeterias has a location in Fayetteville, N.C.

Overall

Been coming here since the 80's; hands down, best food with home-cooking taste at affordable prices. K & W is the favorite place to eat for senior citizens because of this. Employees are friendly, cafeteria is family friendly, and a lot of Christian folk frequent K & W. Workers are quick to clear/clean tables, and bathrooms are also clean. Dining areas are kept neat and clean, and atmosphere relaxing. There are certain times when you encounter long lines, such as after church, or Mother's Day, but it moves along without a long wait. This is just the best place to go in Fayetteville to get your dollars worth of tasty, yummy, food and friendly people.

Unexpectedly GOOD!

Was surprised to get such great food at a cafateria. Line moved quick, no wait. Beautiful salads and the best sauted mushrooms in Fayetteville. Mashed potatoes were homemade with butter and had little lumps just like Mom's...LOL Roast beef was perfectly cooked as was the baked chicken.
My favorite is the fresh baked rolls and bread. And it only cost me $6.50
I'll be back often.
