I recently moved to the area and was looking for a gym. I would have entered the place but they had the front door propped open while people were inside working out. If this were a barn converted into a crossfit gym I would understand but this place is nestled in among other businesses in a strip mall. They need to up their game and add some class if they want to garner some business.
For those of you that are coming here because Karen (the owner) took down the "For Women Only" Facebook page: I am owed over $500 because I paid in full for 2 years, I was only there 2 months when they shut down. Karen called me to tell me she was sending me a refund check, but for less than what I'm owed. I figured it was a mistake and nicely attempted to explain why I'm owed more. She interrupted me, refused to listen, and hung up on me. I wasn't having an attitude or anything, she was just being a coward and not wanting to listen. When she called me back 30 seconds later, I knew to use my recorder app to record the conversation. She argued with me, I let her know it was very rude of her to hang up on me and I didn't like her attitude. She ignored what I said and argued about when I opened my account, I told her I have my contract with the date on it. She was trying to charge me for January and April, I told her I wasn't there in January and she can't charge me for April because they're not open. She told me she legally doesn't have to give me anything, that all contracts are transferred to Nuco gym, and I have to deal with them for a refund. (Just because the gym doesn't exist, doesn't mean she is no longer responsible for legal matters tied to the gym). I explained that if I don't get every penny I'm owed, I will contact my lawyer. She said "Ok, you get your full refund honey" and hung up on me. I'm disgusted with the cowardice, greediness, lack of professionalism, and lack of respect this woman has. She said on the FWO page that she shut the gym down to go full time Ministry. If these are her values, she's going in the wrong profession. I contacted Nuco, spoke with an owner and warned him that she's saying NuCo is responsible for refunds, and since she is trying to charge people for April he needs to be prepared for angry people wanting their money back for April. FWO is also selling the gym equipment, I was about to buy the squat machine for $1,200, but based on Principle, I will not do business with someone who treats people like this and lacks integrity. Please pray for her.--Edited to add: When I signed up, I paid in full because I didn't want surprise money coming from my account. Amanda, the girl who signed me up, said that she just needed a voided check to have on file but it would NOT go into the computer since I am paying in full. The next month, fees were taken out that I had already paid. Also, on numerous times, I was working out in the VIP area and Amanda kicked me out 30-45minutes before closing. Any time I was there until closing, everyone else let me stay until closing, but EVERY time Amanda was there until closing...I was kicked out early. One time she made the excuse the cleaning company was on their way and I needed to leave, I parked elsewhere and watched. I waited until 30 minutes after closing, no one ever went into FWO or VIP. The day I found out FWO/VIP was closed, was the day I was going in to complain about it.
It is obious that all these reviews are fake, a company is paid to make their business look better than it is. If you click on the name of the reviewer you can see all the other reviews they have made...all over the country on the same day. Lol nice try
This gym is extremely military friendly and they have FREE CHILDCARE! That's what sold me on it. Also they have locations all over the US so if you move (PCS) they will look to see if there's a gym near you. Regardless, you have the option to get out of contract if you PCS, move a certain amount of minutes away from the gym, and a few other ways. For roughly $50 a month who can beat that? 2 consecutive hours of free childcare 3 times a day! Plus they have Carrots juice bar at the other location so you don't always have to use the childcare to workout! This place is like a 2nd home.
I enjoy the array of cardio classes. Love it here! Thanks.
Thanks for helping me feel like I made the right choice by having Rebecca show me everything and making me feel comfortable.
I wanted to sign up my two kids. My 3 year old is handicapped and I asked that she was put in a younger toddler class because the ratio of a 3 year old class is 6 - 1 and the ratio of toddler is 1 - 1+ teacher. Also a 3 year old circuit is too advanced for her. They said "because of how it would LOOK to other parents to mix the ages". There is NO little gym policy that wouldn't allow the accommodation and I didn't ask for her not to pay, just to be put into a class that was safe and developmentally appropriate. Other gyms have done it and my daughter is not medically fragile and imposes no risk to herself or others (she can not walk unassisted, it's not like she's a tank). When I told them that if they didn't want us there, we didn't want to be there, they offered to have us come in for some kind of "preview" class before classes start and I'd get a call to schedule that. Classes start on Monday. I haven't gotten a phone call yet. If they're this shady when dealing with a handicapped 3 year old... good luck! ** Response to their addition here. First the "multiple options" they offered was not multiple at all. I could come in to look at the equipment but the only option given to us was that she be put in a class of other 3 year olds, which is STILL not an option for her. She is not physically able to do what 3 year olds do and the class would be far above her abilities. Even with my help, the 3 year old skills that they "teach" are not an option for her. Toddler class is a COMPLETELY different class (and at my daughters abilities) but we are not allowed to utilize that because of their enforcement of policies that the main office says (yes, I've called) they don't have. The only phone call I ever received was after the classes were to already begin (showing their amount of interest in my child) and they were not helpful or even nice on the phone. I've taken my daughter to SKIES unlimited gymnastics classes on post and they are WONDERFUL and less expensive. It's easy to look like you care on here, but my experience with them was not one that I'd ever send my kid to and our friends that we've shared our story with have also sent their kids to the SKIES classes so as not to deal with the people who would write off my daughter.
