I love shopping at the Kroger off of Price Quarters Rd. in McDonough, but I don't love visiting this Kroger!
Both times I've visited, no checkout lanes were open, except for the self-checkout, which was down - both times!
Upon entering on my first visit, the lady was either on break/smoking a cigarette, but she appeared miffed that she had to come back inside when I entered the store. She didn't make me feel welcome off the rip.
I saved $.25 on the creamer that I purchased, but I was overcharged $1.56 on the coffee. I could walk to the Publix and pay less for Dunkin Donuts coffee, and the only reason that I went to Kroger was because Wal-mart didn't have any in stock all this month, imagine that?! I shop at Kroger, as there is no Publix close to where I live, as I can walk to the Kroger that I normally shop at.
Coming to this Kroger location was not a good experience: when I went to check out, the self-checkout wouldn't take my information. I tried re-entering it 2-3 times, but I was harangued by the same employee who wasn't friendly when I entered, who was sqwaking from 20 ft. back that the self-checkout hadn't finished reporting/wasn't up. I figured that since it was after 1200AM, that it should've been up.
I acknowledged the woman, that I heard her the first time, and she finally adjusted the machines so that I and another couple could check out. The name on my checkout slip was Rosanna.
When I exited the building, a manager was outside chuckling with 2-3 male employees smoking. Go somewhere else for your break!! This store seemed to be about the employees' schedule, and not for the convenience of their customers!!
When I visited on 4-11-2010, I bought the least expensive coffee, and some other items, as I didn't want to be over-charged, and I spent about $5.50 less this time purposefully, as I thought I'd give it another try.
While I didn't see the same employees this time, the same thing happened: no checkout lanes open, except for the self-checkout, and so a 10 min. trip becomes a 45 min. inconvenience, both times.
I don't think I'll be back soon to pay $1.50 more+ tax for Dunkin Donuts Turbo Blend coffee or to be browbeaten by night time cashiers for just wanting to shop/checkout during their shift in a timely manner...
