Just moved out after living here for a year. The apartment is okay, the biggest drawback is that important maintenance issues are not addressed. When we moved in, the previous owners had a cat and the cat used the pantry as a litter box. The smell was terrible, and it made living in the apartment really unpleasant. The managers refused to do anything about it. Our dishwasher was broken upon moving in, and it took them 2 months to fix it. The pool was recently closed down by the public health department. Moving in was a bad experience for us because they hadn't cleaned the apartment after the previous owners moved out. There were mounds of cat hair in our carpet and the shower, toilet, and dishwasher were malfunctioning.
The design of the apartments is also really poor. The materials are cheap, the layout is strange, and the showers are awful. Water leaks in parts of our unit from the plumbing, and the walls are very thin. Finally. the entrance door locks are broken. The apartment isn't secure, and anyone could just walk into the building.
The location is good though, right on Broadway and close to NDSU. The manager named Amanda is really nice and can help you if you have issues, but generally the management there is pretty disorganized. They lost some of our lease paperwork and forget about maintenance issues.
TLDR your new apartment will smell really bad and if something breaks no one will fix it. The management needs work but has potential. The location is good and the price is fair, but I would recommend a different place if you have any other options.

Never rent from here or the Gardener! They own both proprieties in Fargo, ND. Our apartment flooded at North Wood Commons due to cracked foundation. Instead of replacing the carpet as Housing Authorities said they should, they simply dried them with fans. In addition, when leaving this rental, they stated that my written notice was late by ONE DAY. I turned it in Monday since they are not available on weekends. Now, they are making me pay another month's rent at a higher rate over that written notice. They have no heart, find someone local who owns property.
