The March of Dimes also supports neonatal intensive care units designed to treat sick babies. The organization offers various drug treatments to replace surgery for babies with a common heart defects. It offers folic acid education and food fortification solutions to prevent neural tube defects. The March of Dimes has been hosting March for Babies, formerly known as WalkAmerica, annually since 1970.
