People at this shop agreed to do the hair for my daughter's wedding. Weeks later I kept calling to speak to my stylist and was told she was out. Called back again and the owner finally told me that the stylist no longer worked there. I asked her what about my daughter's wedding. She said "Sorry, I can't do it." I asked her when she was going to call and let me know and she told me that it was the stylist's problem to call me not hers. I'm sorry, if you own the shop it's your place to call. Never went back!
$50 haircut! When I got home I spotted a few major flaws. I called 3 times left 3 messages asking to come back in for a quick touch up. Never received a call back. Too much $$ if you don't stand behind your service.
Tony gave me an amazing cut. He is a very talented stylist but the experience was not a good one. I arrived for my appt and he was running late cutting a man's hair which means he probably took him as a walk in before my appt. I walked up to the desk and was ignored for the first few minutes. He finally pointed to the one chair in the waiting area for me to sit down. After a few minutes he told his assistant to take me to a salon chair. She sat me down and came back a few minutes later to move me to the hair washing station. All the moves seemed pointless.A good 20 minutes after my appt was scheduled, Tony then asked me to move to another chair where he began cutting my hair. He barely spoke to me. He never introduced himself or his assistant. The cut was terrific and I tipped him 25%. He did not thank me. The salon was completely empty when I left as it is most days when I walk by. Yet when I called for my next appt, I was told I would need to book 30 days in advance.
She knows her stuff! Quaint little shop! I always enjoy stopping to see Sumi!
Wish I could give a zero rating. This lady was rude and completely unprofessional. "Compliments" is the last thing she gave me. The salon was unclean and trashy. Very over priced for the quality.
Today was my first of many more to come appointments with, Tony. He corrected my haircut and I am beyond pleased! I have never had a stylist cut my hair with such precision. He is truly amazing. The atmosphere is not your typical loud chatty salon. It is very clean & gossip free. It was nice to have such a pleasant expierence. Thank you, Tony & Katie! I look forward to my next appt!
First of all, I should have decided against this salon when I first made my appointment. Staff wasn't friendly at all. Actually they were just plain rude. However I kept my appointment and when I arrived I noticed the girl who did my hair gossiped more than a teenage girl which is very unprofessional. To beat it all, I honestly probably could've came out with better hair at a Walmart salon... It was that bad. I've spoken with a few other people who have had bad experiences as well. Not sure how they've gotten these other good reviews.
I enjoyed services and compliments yesterday -- I had highlights and haircut. Angela, the owner, took care of my hair perfectly. The prices are above average compared to the above average prices that I pay in Houston Texas -- when you are in Fairhope you pay Fairhope prices if you want Houston quality hairdos ! Thanks Angela you are a darling qualified person. Your shop is comfortable, friendly, and efficient.
Penny has done my hair 3 times. The first time, a cut and blow out. It was nice -- so I went back the second time for another cut...it was okay but not as good as the first visit. But I thought it may have been an off day for her, since I had found her by asking people whose hair I admired while I was out shopping. After asking so many ladies (really) with darling cuts and styles I thought I'd found a winner. (I am relatively new to the Fairhope area)So 6 weeks later I booked another cut along with Highlights. Penny sells dogs (her little shop is dirty, dog hair in the chairs where you sit while waiting to be attended to and the whole room smells like dogs). She had a call from a potential dog buyer and during my entire hair cut she talked on the phone (honestly). No wonder I had such a horrible cut. I was her only client so she was not busy or otherwise distracted. My hair was a raving mess. Not only did the color turn out orangey in the back and sides behind both ears, where it did not bleach out properly, but the cut was hunky, really, really short and chopped up. It looked like rats had been gnawing on it. I left crying and cried all of the way home. I have Never been back - and I still see people and they say they go to Penny and their hair is nice. I am 55 years old and have difficulty understanding what happened and why??? I can only say you are taking a risk going to her, it is just like the Lotto. I now go to Chuck Brannon at Indulgence and he is great and is very consistent. Penny what is your problem? I have seen your good work but you surely butchered me.
