While dental implants are the preferred measure for many patients, they do require a few months from start to finish. The process begins with the installation of the implants themselves. This involves an incision in the gums at the point of insertion. The implant, which is essentially a screw, is put into the gums, reaching down to the jaw bone. If you're getting several implants, they can all be done at the same time.
A root canal procedure, or endodontic therapy, is usually appropriate for an infected tooth. Dr. Rudolph will clean the inside of your tooth and your root canals to remove all infection and bacteria. Once your tooth is prepared, he can provide a lifelike dental crown. Dr. Rudolph performs this treatment using advanced rotary handpieces, which can make the procedure faster and more comfortable. He can also perform retreatment for patients whose previously infected tooth has begun to bother them.
Bleaching and whitening are often part of the preparation for an event where you will be the center of attention. With a simple tray whitening system, we make an impression of your teeth and then you simply wear the trays with whitening gel. Spend minutes a day over less than a week for brighter, whiter teeth!
For many people, the problem with their teeth is not decay or pain, but misalignment and discoloration. We are happy to offer our cosmetic dentistry services to these individuals.
Preventive dentistry is a major focus of our practice because it can often keep you from needing extensive restorative treatment. Through regular cleanings, our hygienists can eliminate bacteria that would eventually cause decay and gum disease. We see patients as young as two years old. Routine cleanings and exams are important, and we also perform treatments specifically for children. Sealants and fluoride supplements can strengthen developing teeth. Our orthodontic screenings can also identify misalignment early. Our team has years of experience working with children, and we know how to create a welcoming environment and help young patients feel at ease.
Most often, he will take x-rays at every other visit. These images can uncover decay hidden deep inside your teeth and jaw. Dr. Rudolph will also evaluate your gums to look for sores, redness, and other symptoms that could indicate either gum disease or oral cancer. To complete your oral cancer screening, he will check your tongue, soft palate, the floor of your mouth, and throat. If he sees cause for concern, he will order a biopsy. Finally, he will conduct a TMJ Disorder screening. He will inquire about any discomfort that you may have, and he will observe your jaw movements.
Neglecting your dental care can have lasting effects for your overall health. Contact our office online or call (203) 254-9533 to schedule your preventive exam and cleaning.
We try to provide effective restorative treatment to preserve your smile as much as possible. However, if a tooth is damaged beyond repair, Dr. Rudolph can extract it with minimal discomfort. Your tooth and gums will be numb during the process and we can also supply deeper sedation for your comfort. Dr. Rudolph can also restore your smile to fill the gap left by an extracted tooth.
Dr. Keith Rudolph has a comprehensive approach to general dentistry at his Fairfield, CT, office. He will examine your overall oral health before recommending treatment, whether it is a relatively simple deep cleaning or more advanced root canal therapy. Your comfort is a major priority for our team, and we offer a full selection of sedation options to reduce dental anxiety and allow for stress-free procedures.
