Mental Health
The neck lift is usually part of the facelift. Cervicoplasty is the procedure used to remove excess skin that is sagging on the neck. Platysmaplasty is a procedure that removes or alters the neck muscles. Typically, a neck lift will last two to three hours under general anesthesia; if you are having a neck lift in conjunction with other surgeries, the time will vary accordingly. Your exact procedure will depend on your desired results and your own personal circumstances. In order to undergo a neck lift, you must be in good general physical and mental health.

Chemotherapy
Other methods of treatment may include radiation therapy, cryosurgery (freezing the cancer cells); topical chemotherapy, in which anti-cancer drugs are applied to the skin; or Moh’s surgery, a procedure in which the cancer is shaved off one layer at a time. If you are to undergo a Moh’s procedure with another physician, Dr Dufresne can perform the closure to help achieve an optimal result with minimal scarring.

General Surgery
The first step in specialty training to become a plastic surgeon is to complete a general surgery residency. This is followed by the completion of a plastic surgery residency. Some complete a combined general surgery and plastic surgery residency. Residency is where medical school graduates receive mentored instruction and experience to learn to provide care within their speciality. Fellowship training is additional training in a very specialized area after completion of residency. Depending on what type of plastic surgery interests you, you may want to consider a surgeon who has not only completed all requirements but also completed one or more fellowships.

Liposuction

Blepharoplasty
The procedure is done under general anesthesia and usually takes 45 minutes to a few hours depending on how much work is done. Incisions are made along the eyelids in inconspicuous places (in the creases of the upper lids, and just below the lashes on the lower lids). Then, Dr Dufresne removes excess tissue through these incisions and then stitches them closed with fine sutures. In the case that no skin needs to be removed, Dr Dufresne will likely perform a transconjunctival blepharoplasty, where the incision is made inside the lower eyelid and there are no visible scars.
Abdominoplasty
Abdominoplasty is a surgical procedure that helps to flatten and shape the abdomen and waist by removing excess fat and skin and tightening muscles.
Nose Surgery
Medically necessary nose surgery to correct a functional breathing problem is a different matter and is purely a reconstructive procedure billable to insurance. It (septoplasty and turbinectomy) involves correcting deformities caused by disease or injury and is not done for cosmetic reasons.

Breast Surgery
Otoplasty
Otoplasty is usually performed as an outpatient procedure in the hospital or Dr Dufresne’s office in his procedure room. If your child is young, Dr Dufresne may recommend general anesthesia, so the child will sleep through the operation. For older children or adults, Dr Dufresne surgeon may prefer to use local anesthesia, combined with a sedative. The surgery usually takes two to three hours.
Scar Revision
If the cancer is larger in size, or if it has spread to the lymph nodes, more complex surgery may be required. If removing the cancer leaves a cosmetic defect, Dr Dufresne can use reconstructive techniques – ranging from simple scar revision to a more complex transfer of skin and tissue – to repair damaged areas, rebuild facial structures and help restore appearance and function.
