At Fairbanks Biofeedback & Counseling, Mike provides individual, couple, family, and group therapy, working with both adults and children. His treatment philosophy is based on a bio/psycho/social model which integrates clinical social work, behavioral medicine, and health psychology. This approach emphasizes that behavior can be relearned. A collaborative relationship is developed to address ways to increase learning and mastery of skills to gain better control. Strategies are taught to keep the skills active and prevent relapse.
In addition to providing general counseling, his practice specializes in the treatment of stress related disorders, anxiety, chronic pain, depression, illness, mind and body disorders, and attention deficit disorder. He also works with children and their parents in teaching self-regulation skills. Mike regularly offers consultation and conducts stress management workshops for several Fairbanks businesses and agencies. He periodically teaches courses for the University of Alaska Fairbanks in Counseling, Behavior Management, and Stress Management.
