I had a problem with my snow plow. They were able to get me in on the New Year Holiday Jan 2). My plow control had shorted and caused the plow motor to run continuosly. This caused multiple melt down on my wiring harnessed. They tracked down and repaired all the damaged wiring and replaced bad components all for a very reasonble price. A very satisfied customer. Great quality work. I had a whole brake job done on my truck and they got it back to me as promised. My vehicle will continue to only be serviced and repaired by them. Awesome staff as well!
What a great crew of people, new management is doing a great job. I will be returning for all my truck repairs. Thanks guys!!
I took my car in to get new tires and an alignment. Ended up having all of the ball joints replaced. 11 months later my tires were bald and needed replaced. I took it back under the warranty and was told all my ball joints needed replaced again and that although I was under the time limit of the warranty I was 80 miles over on my mileage so they would not honor their warranty . A ball joint should last over 10,100 miles if they are installed right. They even said that they should not have gone bad.....
I have had all of my major repairs done here and they have always been fair. Vehicles need major repairs sometimes, they have been good about explaining the reasons behind the cost. Frequently Ken's offers lifetime warranties on parts. Those are more expensive than the bargain brand but they pay for themselves. Cars have big expensive wearable parts. It is something you should plan for.
At Ken's you can talk with the people that actually turn wrenches as opposed to a "service advisor" who probably couldn't change a tire.Unfortunately if you need an alignment, odds are that suspension components are worn and may need to be replaced. It's going to take some money. Check their pricing against the dealership. I dare you.I've been going here for years with both a stock and a lifted vehicle and have always been satisfied. I referred several of my coworkers, who after visiting, have also recommended Ken's.I still go to the dealership for parts, but Ken's beats them on workmanship and customer service every day of the week.
I've had my truck at three other shops to get repaired without success and they got it fixed!!
Not impressed one bit and will never go back. Customer service sucks. Took my honda accord there a few months ago to get a new belt. Ken and his workers were talking and cursing over each other as I was trying to explain the problem. Ken assured me it was an easy fix. As soon as I picked it up that afternoon I noticed the belt squealing every time I started her up or turned the wheel. Took it back the next day, Ken shrugged his shoulders and had it in the shop another day. He only half-fixed the problem once again, I got fed up with the cursing and half-assing and just figured it out myself. If you want a good auto shop GO TO SIMARD AUTOMOTIVE!!!
This is a crooked shop that should be avoided. They invent problems that don't exist, pretend to fix them and defraud you of your hard earned cash. I learned about them the hard way in the mid to late 1990's. They had coupons in a coupon book for a free alignment. I took my car in to be checked and adjusted if needed and was told the front end needed to be fixed. I assumed they were honest and paid to have the work done even though I hadn't noticed any problem. A couple years later I took it to them again with a free alignment coupon to be checked and aligned if needed. Again they said the front end was bad and would need to be fixed before they could do the alignment. This time I was suspicious and didn't have them do the work. I took it over to Sears Auto and had them check it out and was told the alignment was fine and the front end was fine. I never went back to Ken's after that. Several years later I mentioned what had happened to a mechanic at another shop and he laughed and said Ken's was notorious for that. This past week I mentioned it at another shop and they said they had had the same experience. They had repaired the front end on a vehicle and had referred the owner to an alignment shop for a follow up alignment. But the owner took it to Ken's Fairbanks Alignment instead of the shop they recommended and Ken of course told them that they had a bad front end and he would need to fix it before he could do the alignment. The customer went back to them somewhat irate as he had just paid to have it fixed. They put the vehicle up on the rack and verified that the work had been done properly and showed him the new parts and demonstrated that it had been fixed properly. So Ken's is still ripping people off and still getting away with it. Shame on him and the local community for letting him get away with it for so long.
They had my Jeep for 2 1/2 days and never did call with an estimate. I went and picked it up. They don't even deserve one star.
