        Car dealerships sometimes get a bad rap because their repair prices are usually higher than the local mechanic's. But not always, And bear in mind that they use factory parts, give a solid estimate, and will usually be there awhile to stand behind their work. That's how I found McFarland Ford to be. A reputable, old-fashioned, customer-oriented, small-town dealer that knows they have to play it straight or their business will suffer.



        After going to two local mechanics, neither of whom could tell me what was wrong when my truck had a problem, I took it into McFarland and for just $89 they ran a series of tests which told me exactly what the problem was. Eventually, my truck was going to need a new engine



        When the time came to replace it, I let them do the job and they did it perfectly. I ended up with a 3-year, unlimited-mileage factory warranty (which neither of the other mechanics could offer) and I know that Ford will be around to honor it if need be. In this case, the cost of the remanufactured engine and its installation was LESS than the price quoted by the local mechanics.



        So don't count out your local dealership if you need a big job done. They can be very competitive and it pays them to stand behind their work. I was so impressed with every aspect of the job, that McFarland in Exeter is where I'm going to buy my next vehicle.
