It's is so sad to see this amazing business and woman no longer in the area. I loved Florence and the work she did. She was one of a kind and Evansville needs another one like her. Unfortunately sewing seems to be a dying art. I have had a bad experience at another Alterations shop since she closed. Sad. Miss you!

It's a shame she isn't in business anymore. It seems that this is a dying art. My favrotite seamstress also retired and then I went to this other alterations shop on Green river and they are just awful.
Totally unhappy. Took my wife's sewing machine in for repair and they tried to tell me it was unfixable. Proceeded to try and sell me a $5000 sewing machine. Long story short I took it to another place and they fixed it for $150. Bad customer service
Extremely rude!!! If you don't want to get yelled at, go somewhere else. This is definitely not Nicholi's business anymore. Everyone I know who has gone here has been treated awful and or has had bad alterations. It's a shame. Nicholi was so good.
I'm not one to post negative reviews but I feel my experience warrants it. Buyer beware. Do you research before leaving your gown or valuable items here. I went in here a couple years ago with my prom dress. They seemed like they knew what they were doing so they pinned my dress. My dress had one short lining later that didn't need to be shorter and one super long sheer layer that needed to be shortened. The owner told me at the register after taking my dress that it would be $100 for one layer. I felt like that was a lot but I had to so I left my dress because I didn't know where else to go. When I went to go pick up my dress they informed me that I owed an additional $100 for the hem. $200 for one layer? I don't know much about sewing but my mom was so upset. That is ridiculous! My mom paid but was so unhappy. We finally tried the dress on with the shoes I originally brought. The dress was too short!!! Like waaaay too short! How does that happen! The owner tried to say I was wearing a higher shoe but I wasn't and my mom is such a nice person we just quietly left. We didn't know what to do. When I tried it on again at home it was nearly 6" too short. My shoes were about 4" heals both times. I don't see how they ruined my $800 Sherri hill dress for a costly $200 hem! I ended up having to wear flats and my feet still showed. I was so sad all night. You need to be aware that your dress may or may not end up too short and you may be extorted extra money! Like double what I was told! I asked a nice lady who works out of her house and she said my dress might've costed $40 for her to shorten.... so it was 5X? I didn't even get what I paid for. The only reason I'm leaving this here now is because I was heard similar things happening to other people from this same exact place. They are all too nice to say anything but I keep hearing it happening to nice people I know. It's sad. I've since received 3 wonderful Alterations experiences from two ladies the store I buy from recommends. One lady even completely remade one dress top beaded and bottom multiple layers for less than $200. I thought she was going to charge more but she didn't. She did so much work for such a low price and my dress turned out perfect with her. I always use the glam shop ladies now. I have had 3 super complicated Sherri hill dresses done to perfection with two other professionals. And I cannot say the same for this place. Please read the reviews and do your research first before you leave your $800 Sherri hill to be botched. ☹️
I used to work here. Florence was amazing, friendly, and knowledgeable. I loved working for her. I opened my business "Katelyn's Alterations & Design" shortly after she retired. I always admired how Florence ran her business and have modeled the way we do things after her. Everyone loved and misses Florence. She taught me so much when I started there 13 years ago!
I have only had good experience with this tailor. She is reasonable on her prices and does a great job. She has it done fast, too.
This company is not worth anything, The lady over charged because my daughter who has health issues and could not stand until after surgery so the lady said it was a rush job and was charging $58 dollars, when I called her she was not only rude to me but to my mother and daughter when they went back to get the dress, plus she hung up on me. My mother who went back to get the dress was hit in the face with the dress by the lady, then when my mother called her a name she threatening to call police which she was told to please go ahead and call because we want to report her. DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!
