Excellent tatoo artist! I so appreciate JD Stella and Joseph! They are AMAZING at their craft! I have several tats from Stella! And one from Joseph who did an elephant on my calf! Beautiful! If I were wanting the best I would suggest going to them! And Marly at the front desk is kind and will help you with what you are looking for!!!
Laura does some amazing work! Easily the best piece I have. Great customer service and pricing. I plan to go back again!
Laura and Juan were wonderful! I had made the mistake of walking into the Abyss Tattoo and was treated like trash. Luckily I found Body Language Body Art, and enjoyed the attention of 2 wonderful artists. They took the time to help me customize a tattoo the way I wanted it. I will return there for further body art, and hope others will enjoy them as much as I did.
I was looking for tattoo artist to help me put my own art on my skin. I had designed and drawn a tattoo for my second son. It was similar to a tattoo I had drawn for my first son. Stella down graded my art and the previous tattoo I had received from one of her coworkers, Jody. I found that to be very unprofessional and rude. Especially when I was instructed to by my own gun to do my own art. Needless to say my money, art, and skin went to a different artist.
DO NOT GET YOUR TATTOO AT ABYSS TATTOO!!! ESPECIALLY BY "JD!" SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE! In December of 2012, we all took a journey up to Eureka Springs for the weekend. My girlfriend and a couple others decided to get tattoos so we went hunting for a parlor. We didn't actually like most of the parlors we came across, either they were limited in what they could do or they were just horribly rude which was out of the ordinary because the locals are usually amazingly friendly. Last but not least we come to Abyss. There were 3 people in there that all seemed friendly, skilled and confident. As the tattoos were done, we left satisfied. As some time passes by and it heals up, we notice some fading, some lines that were not quite connected and some spots that were not completely filled in. From a distance it looks fine, but close up it's very visible. We went up there in May of 2013 (the next time we were in Eureka Springs) and asked to speak to the guy that did it "JD" is his name. He was outside on the balcony so we went and ever so nicely asked if he did touch ups. He was slouched in a chair wearing unnecessary sunglasses and looked like he hated the world. I then thought to myself...a little too much to drink last night when you have work the next morning mate? In a very rude tone, he asked to see it. He very quickly glanced at it, still wearing his dark sunglasses and said, "Well...what's wrong with it?! I don't see anything wrong." Confused at his terrible reaction, we then began to point things out on the tattoo itself that we wanted to be touched up. Still rude as heck and still wearing sunglasses, not looking at us he began to bullcrap us by saying well it's going to be too dark in this area, it will make it look worse than it already does, "noooo, it's supposed to look like that, kind of faded into grey" *he continues to babble*...excuse me? Are you listening to yourself? I got the impression that he was trying to make my girlfriend look stupid, I very much so didn't appreciate that. So then he began to kind of shew us away. Wow, never have I experienced such a terrible customer service experience. If he was lazy and didn't want to do it, he should have just said he didn't have time because he drank too much the night before and was hungover instead of making stuff up lying to us, and trying to make us look dumb. DO NOT GO TO ABYSS TO GET A TATTOO!!! AND AGAIN, ESPECIALLY NOT FROM JD! HEED MY WARNING!
Most experienced tattoo artists in Eureka Springs, all with varying talents. All 3 artists have wonderful line work and shading, and if they are working with color it's vibrant and even. No tattoo mill, they create their own designs based on what you are wanting. I've had them do 5 tattoos for me and each and every one is clean, unique, and receives compliments daily. Professional and easy to work with, as well as fun. They will tell you the truth if your idea is not going to look good in a few years, and offer suggestions of things that WILL stand the test of time.
In a town of streetshops this place has awesome tattoos! All custom. See for yourself, think for yourself!
Amazing artists! I went to Eureka for a weekend getaway with a friend and decided to get my first tattoo. They did an amazing job and were extremely professional! My friend and I both got a tat from here and will go back again if the occasion should present itself. I recommend everyone go for any piercing and tattoos you want! I was able to walk in, get a custom design drawn and finished very quickly!
I was working with Mike on either full sleeves or both legs. I asked him if he was up to the task, he assured me he was. After talking it over, I asked him how much he needed to get started on the sketches, he said normally they take $50. I paid $150 just to help him out and show him I appreciated his attention to my tattoo. Several weeks went by and I asked him to email what he had done. He sent me a doodle that was done in literally probably 5 minutes and 2 or 3 crappy pieces of flash work. I told him that I was not happy with what I see and he said he had been dealing with personal problems (very unprofessional I thought) and the shop had a new owner. We both agreed that he was not up to the task. He agreed to refund my money in two payments. I got $75 back through the mail. He said he sent the other $75 by money order through the post office a couple of weeks later. Now he will not reply to my emails or return my phone calls. This tattoo shop is in a tourist town and people who don't know any better are the only reason this shop is making it. The work is all small stuff and generic flash work. The guy wouldn't even let me see his portfolio. When I asked to see it, he said they were putting their (meaning all artists in the shop) work on the computer and he would email it to me. I regretfully gave them the benefit of the doubt. This place is a fly by night outfit and very unprofessional. DO NOT GET A TATTOO HERE!!!
