It's a trap!

Be careful when it comes to upgrades!

We rented a car for one week, and we got an upgrade for the next bigger class. The salesman said it would be ten Dollars a day, so 70 for the whole week.
As we got the bill one week later, he charged us 10.99 per day + 8.50 Taxes. When I asked him about that, he became very rude and said we should look better at what we sign.
I translate this to: ""You better don't believe what I tell you, just look at small printed clause in the contract"".
And when I checked my bank account last week, they even charged me 94 Dollars for the Upgrade, so again 9 Dollars more!

This was definitely the last time I rented a car at Alamo.
The service is horrible, and obviously they have to trick their customers in order to keep their prices low.

Alamo wants $2000 from us for damage caused by other driver

CONSUMER WARNING: My wife's Alamo rental was parked on a street while she shopped. Someone else backed their car into the rental. The other driver said his insurance would cover the slight damage. Alamo has just sent us a letter telling us that my wife is responsible for the damage and that we owe Alamo over $2,000 for a car door damaged by another driver. We see no evidence that Alamo attempted to collect from the driver who admitted he was responsible for the damage.
