WOW!!! This Place Is Incredible!!

I've been coming to this restaurant for YEARS!! I first came when the company I was working for had their Christmas party there, and what can I say? The night was not only beautiful, but the food amazing. After that I was hooked! I go a lot more during the summer because the view is so pretty and they have outside bars. It does get crazy fun on the weekends, Saturday and Sundays--you have to want to have a good time, no slackers here!! The rest of the week I've noticed is more laid back, great for date nights. I just went there today and had the BEST crab cake I've ever had, all jumbo lump and cooked perfectly. I also had a cup of Cream of Crab and that too was filled with jumbo lump. You have to try it. The staff is SUPER friendly and very helpful in helping you figure out what to eat, because it all looks sooooo good!!

Don't bother eating at River Watch !!!!!!! TERRIBLE $$$$

We'll people, it's been 12 years or so since my last visit to River Watch Restaurant. Still looks the same. I use to be a reguar at this place when I lived in M.D. and my getaway was the water and ten years of boating. I now live in P.A.I took a friend here saturday for dinner. She lived nearby. My usual at any decent eatery is surf and turf. $42 Riverwatch's BASIC MENU PRICE. Whew!! People your not going to believe at this price, it only included heated rolls, 8 oz filet mignon, lobster, micro amoun tof corn and a leavy green combo. This is were it went very wrong!!! I ask my server what kind of potatoes or rice ect comes with the meal. She said NONE! I was shocked ! I said are you KIDDING ME! This is all I get for $ 42. No salad to start things off. NOPE! Just heated buns. My jaw dropped and the server said she was sorry. They lowered there prices and this is all you get. I laughed in disbelief. She said you can buy some mash potatoes for $ 2.50. I again said are you Kidding me!!!. I told her this is an insult! I should have just got up and ran. But I was hungry and trying to entertain a friend. So I ordered. When my food came to me. Lobster was ok. My medium well steak was to pink inside. Whew! They sent it back and butterflied and recooked it. Still came back with to much pink. I ate it anyway cause I was starving and feared a cook might spit on it. Now let's get to the veggies. What veggies. People, I got a teaspoon of corn with a smigget of some green stuff in it. The total veggie portion size was about two inches, if you spread it out. That's being generous. I looked at my female friend with disbelief. Her fish platter had the same tiny veggie portion. She was getting nervous about my anger. No, I didn't make a sceen like I wanted to. No refills on my soda. I was afraid to ask in fear of being charged extra for that. So, people. It's been 12 years and NEVER AGAIN will I be back. Such a nice area for Essex. No mature management around. I was looking around to express my anger before I left. So I told my friend, I'll google Rivewatch and write a honest review if possible. Thank god for the internet. I should have read some reviews before I went back after 12 years. MORAL of the story. Find another water front eatery good people. There's lots of dining areas around m.d. on the water who will sherish some couple spending $ 75 on a meal and give you your moneys worth. This place needs a rebirth and a reality check.. Ok good people I'm done with my review. Thanks for taking the time and reading it.... Doug ex Marylander

Least professional management staff I have ever experienced...

Although the atmosphere and scenery are top-knotch, the managers at this place are kid-like to say the least. Having eaten and visited many locations all over baltimore county, this place ranks among the lowest out there. The crew that was working last night at the bar/ night club were trying to rip off as many people as they could, by giving multiple checks to the same people and demanding them all be paid. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone that matters to me.

Fantastic Crab Cakes

I have yet to have better crabcakes than here. They may not be the biggest, but they have 0 filler and all Jumbo Lumb. I can't decide what I like more, the Maryland Crab Soup, or Cream of Crab. Either way, both are awesome. The Hot Crab Dip is like no other (though I liked it better in the ramekin and with the bread sticks). Great Music on the weekends and an awesome time in the summer with the LIVE music outside and the bar out there. It's hard to beat the view (though you have to look over the boats at the marina) and it's a nice stroll down the piers.
