Overall

I recommend to stay away. I have done business with Laughlin Collision Service. I have purchased a car from them, as they are not only a collision center but also a dealer. They purchase used cars, repair, and sell them. So, I have purchased a car, I was assured that everything was ok with it, that everything was taken care of by them or other shops they work with. I opened the hood and started the car - 5sec later anti-freeze was spraying out of one of the tubes. They fixed it right away on the spot. I took it for a test drive and it did sound a little weird but we stopped at the local mechanic (their friend) and he said it sounds ok. We finalized a transaction. 10 miles later, on my way home, the "check engine" light showed on the dashboard together with "limited performance" message. I called them right away and said I'm on my way back. They checked it with their scanner, said that 2 codes found on the scanner mean probably something minor. They did reset the code and reconnected the scanner, now it showed about 8 codes. We went to a local mechanic as he had more professional scanner. He said it's something about computer failing, lean banks, and transmission. I was really in a bad situation as I just purchased this car and had to drive almost 500 miles back (it was pretty unique car, this was the year and model I liked). After a conversation on what to do next (as I was ready to return it on the spot) I was promised that they will reimburse me for whatever is required to have the car fixed for up to $1,000 and the remaining balance we will split in half and I had 30 days to do so. In those 30 days it was all a nightmare, I had to get a rental to have a car, pay for multiple mechanics to diagnose the problem. I paid a total of almost $2,700 plus another couple of hundreds on rental. 2 days before the end of our 30 day agreement I sent them an email of what needs to be done and how much it costs and wanted to ask them for their opinion (i.e. if I should do it). I was not 100% sure, as it was a lot of money and just because this is their industry as that's what they do for a living I was expecting them to advise me. Also, I wanted to get their feedback before making a final decision, as again, it was a lot of money and their responsibility, so if they had another idea on how to get it fixed it would be a win win situation, as they would save on the reimbursement fees and I would have the car fixed. However, they DID NOT respond to my email at all. They looked at the email multiple times (I know, as I use email tracking software with my clients so it shows me exactly # of opens together with location and device) but decided not to respond and wait for 30 day time period of our agreement to expire. Not hearing back from them, I decided to have it fixed (still in our 30 day period). A day after I sent them all receipts and amounts. I received text message that they will reimburse me only for $515.50 - which is the amount I paid to the first mechanic, as I did not provide them info on time. Also, they are selling auto warranty telling that even if you have a problem that exists now, the warranty company should take care of it - really not trustworthy. Please trust me, stay away. I'm in the middle of discussion this with two law offices and I consider a law suit. It's too bad that there are places that change someone's dream about owning a specific car into a nightmare. I hope this review will help you make a decision and save you the headache.
