These honest mechanics know their business. The treat the customer fair, and they have honest prices. I will use them for all my cars in the future. They were recommended by my mechanic at John Hakes Garage in Wrightsville, Pa.

I have to agree with one of the other posts. I hate to see bad posts about this place! I just had mufflers put on my Camaro and it was so cheap I originally thought he was kidding when he gave me the price. Not only was it very affordable and done ahead of schedule, I had an exhaust leak and rather than voiding my warranty and fixing it which would have been a very simple 15 minute fix, they informed me that was covered by a federal warranty and that I should call the dealer. Sure enough they were exactly right and I am now getting the leak fixed for free. Unbelievably honest and good at what they do!!! Both rare qualities to find now a days in car repair!

Oh and by the way it is over an hour from my house. Worth every mile I drove! Customer for life!!

Thanks Again!!

Awesome value, exceptional work!!

I used to work in the area and always heard great things from people who had general fixes and performance upgrades at Red Run. I have a chevy k2500 turbo diesel that is 20 years old. Runs great but my muffler is disintegrated and a rusty mess. The rest of the exhaust is old and rusty but functions. I currently live near Philadelphia and went to get a quote from my local Midas shop. They did not look too in depth until I asked. They quoted me $480 for a muffler, tailpipe, a few exhaust hangars and labor. All aluminized steel. This was just to fix what they assumed was the exhaust issue and said if it needs more we can look at it then. I found two bolt on kits that Would greatly improve the trucks performance but I would be left doing all of the work for 425 for aluminized, 650 for stainless shipped to me. At these prices I would be getting a crossover pipe at 2.75", 3" down pike and 4" the rest of the way with a flow through muffler. The aluminized system could last a few years the stainless 10+ years easy.

So I made the hour plus trip to red run to see what they thought and could do. The young woman at the desk was so friendly and she had one of the technician's meet me at my truck. His name was Wilmer and he was just as kind as the receptionist. He checked out the entire exhaust while the truck was off and when it was running. He identified the actual issues I was experiencing and was able to fix them at a fraction of what Midas said and cheaper than I could get a kit for. I described my ideal set up mirroring the stainless steel kit I could order. Me quoted me parts and installation for less than I could have bought the parts for the aluminized kit.

I made my appointment and the work was done beautifully. The sound the feel the look it's all better than I expected and I was expecting it to be good. Everything came out to the quoted price too. Ill make the drive to red run anytime I need exhaust work done on my other vehicles. The people we so kind and helpful I am happy to see my money go to them.

I never write reviews for anything good or bad, but I wanted to share how great of a place Red Run Exhaust is to do business and the work is not just a value but exceptional work!

Red Run Exhaust

I dont like to see ANY negative comments about this place, they are the most honest, down to earth folks you will EVER deal with, and their pricing exceeds fair. I drive all the way from Harrisburg to bring my cars here, and I also send folks from all over the tri county area. They usually have a two week waiting list but its worth the wait. They wont fix anything that doesnt need fixing and will tell you. If something goes wrong after the fact, they will back it up. If you want a custom exhaust, its best to make an appt and talk to the guys in person who are going to install so that you are all on the same page. HIGHLY recommended.

good place to use

We have used this place a few times, the first time when the shop was still in REd Run. Prices are fantastic and work is good. I know many people that take their cars here to get work done and they are very satisfied. I had thought my cat converter was bad, but it was not and they did not charge me, as some places would have.
some people can never be pleased, they expect perfection all the time in all situations and that attitude will make a person pick apart everything in their lives and nothing wil ever satisfy them. don't let the neg comments about this place keep you from taking your car here.

My Van Barking Thanks To Red Run

They installed duals on my Dodge Van around 7 years ago + gave me a great price so I had them install 2 1/2 exhaust on my Chevy van.

Poor customer service.

I made an appointment two weeks ahead of time and gave my cell phone so they could reach me. Dropped my truck off the night before and put my key (with my cell number on it) in the key drop. By the middle of the next day I had not heard anything. I called Red Run and the lady said my truck was done. She told me they had tried to call me several times. I asked what number she had and found out she wrote down the wrong number! I didn't get the exhaust system I wanted and lady on the phone didn't care!

Buyer Beware

This shop did a custom cat-back exhaust for a friend of mine and welded directly to the catalytic converter which any GOOD mechanic can tell you should not be done. After the check-engine light came on with a catalytic converter code (less than 24 hours later) they told him that it was nothing they had done and that the converter was just bad... which was not the case. They also welded the muffler on crooked and did not properly route the exhaust, it rattles and hits against the body of the car. Very poor workmanship and very poor customer service, a shop should own up to their mistakes and stand behind their work, they did not.

Best Exhaust Shop Around!

I purchased my car used, and it came with a terribly loud can muffler... I literally couldn't talk on the phone at 60 mph!

I was referred to Red Run, so I called them, and they installed a stainless muffler with a perfect sound, and replaced about 3 feet of pipe that wasn't stainless so my whole system is now stainless.

It was over a year ago, so I don't remember exactly what I paid, but I know it was very reasonable.

Several months ago, my exhaust system started to really rattle. I called Red Run, made an appointment, and came in at the agreed time. They looked at it, determined that the rattle was caused by a factory hanger that had decayed, and replaced it free of charge! I felt they really went above their duty, since they hadn't replaced the hanger in the first place, and therefore I hadn't paid them for it.

I saw that their average rating was below 5 stars, so I had to write a review. I was very impressed by their service, and I also know they have a very good name in our local area.
