No matter whether an accident involved a freshly licensed teen or an experienced driver, knowing what to do (or not do) is essential to bouncing back.
All it takes is a little preparation to get your car winter-ready and to keep from getting into an icy situation.
It’s time to bring long sleeves and long pants out of storage, prep your home and car, and contact the cool weather home/yard contractors.
My mother purchased a 2011 Subaru Legacy from Twin Pines Auto Group after a terrible accident totaled her beloved 2005 model. She was convinced she would never find another she would love like that one or be able to afford since she is retired. I searched and searched until I found her the perfect one, the only catch a 4 hr round trip to see. I called Twin Pines and spoke with Wyett and set up a time to see it. He was wonderful from the first phone call on. He even went out of his way to call us while we were on the road to make sure we hadn't gotten lost (never been to Ephrata). He answered all of my mother's questions and if he didn't know an answer he was happy to find out with a smile on his face. We couldn't take the car that day because of waiting for the ins. co., but we did get it the next day. Wyett was cheerfully waiting for us to arrive. He had every thing ready for her and was very professional. All the staff was helpful and kind. I have bought 2 other vehicles in the past 3 years from other dealers (in our area) and none were as pleasant, easy, and stress free to deal with. I was definitely worth the drive!!!
We just bought our third vehicle in five months from Twin Pine Auto. Even though it is a 1.5 hour drive away, I would not even consider buying a used vehicle from anywhere else. They have a huge selection and every vehicle I have ever looked at there has been in immaculate condition. The salesmen are the epitome of professionalism, as well as being quite personable. The finance people answer every question you may have, and walk you through the process in a seamless fashion. We now own a 2013 Civic, 2014 Escape and 2016 Town and Country. We have been completely satisfied with each one of them and all were prepped to the highest level. The buying process is as smooth as can be. You, as a customer, are made to feel welcomed and valued. There is no pressure to buy, and if you want to examine, and drive, multiple vehicles, they are all more than happy to assist you. Thank you Twin Pine for yet another great vehicle. I will be sending all of my friends and family to you for their future vehicle purchases.
I had an AMAZING experience with Twin Pine. The selection was absolutely sensational and from the moment I walked onto the lot, I didn't feel any sense of slimy salesmanship; it felt like it was a friend or a family member talking to me and helping me through the whole journey. This was my first time buying a car on my own and I was obviously confused and overwhelmed but and I was afraid being taken advantage of because of that, but there was not one second I felt like that. I also don't have good credit at all and have a very strict budget, but they took extra time out of their days to help me and find me exactly what I wanted at the price I wanted. I honestly couldn't be happier. I will NEVER buy a car anywhere else again and I will tell all my friends to buy from Twin Pine.
We were in on a really busy Friday night and test drove our 2009 Buick enclave. We loved it. They had us sit in the basement which was a beautiful room with a fireplace, you could snack or get a drink until they could give us more information . It was relaxing. They really worked with us to fit it into our budget. Twin Pines cars seem very well-maintained with a great selection and nice people. We had purchased another vehicle from them years ago. We had tried other car lots and only had problems. So we decide to check them out again. Bought our car a month and a half ago and we are still loving it! We will continue to go to Twin Pines in the future. The only disadvantage last time I bought a vehicle we got a free car wash card they do not offer this any longer.
These are usually two words you don't hear when speaking about a car dealership, but twin pines is different! We have been looking for an suv for sometime now, but didn't know which one was best for us. We also had financing on our previous car and owed more than it was worth, so car buying wasn't looking great for us. My friend Jenny had recommended Twin pine had the biggest selection with great price points as well,so we set up an appointment. I found my dream suv for 2000 less than anywhere else and it had all the options I wanted. I did get less than I hoped for my trade in but they offer wholesale pricing on the cars they sell, sor could understand where they were coming from. Financing took care of us and I am now in my new suv. Thanks twin pine!
Twin Pine gave me such an amazing experience in purchasing a new car! First off this is the first car that I've ever bought by myself so I was already a little nervous. John Lapp was perfect and talked me through every step of the way. When I went home that night and thought about it for the weekend I did NOT receive one annoying harassing call about when I was coming back in! I loved it! They didn't rush me, or push me into anything that I wasn't ready for and were super understanding with me being nervous. Angie, who helped me with my loan was AMAZING. Took her time and told me every little detail I needed to know as a new buyer! I can't thank them enough for helping me out with a new amazing car for a low amazing price!
Ed and Jamie R. A co-worker told us to go to Twin Pines and ask for Wyatt Z. Car shopping is usually, no make that always stressful. Not this time. We have never had such a stress free, non-pushy, pleasent car shopping experience. Wyatt was awesome. He was freindly, patient, and knowledgable. We wanted to drive away in a 2013 Lincoln MKS. When we arrived, the car was detailed and ready and financing was approved at a rate that we never thought would happen. We were made to feel comfortable in the lounge area while waiting for the paperwork. We were in and out. Seamless process. We will refer friends and family to Twin Pines and Wyatt Z. Not to mention we will be back also. Wyatt deserves a bonus!!!
We drove from red lion to ephrata having never been there, it took us about an hour to get there. Our first impression of Twin Pines was great that had a huge variety of nice clean cars and after talking with Seth and Steve it just went up from there. We ended up purchasing my first vehicle and I cannot describe how easy and stress free the experience was, I was so impressed and they answered every single question I had and went over everything with me. They got me the car I was looking for in price range as a matter of fact even cheaper than I expected. I couldn't be happier Twin Pines is the only place I will be purchasing cars from now on! Thank you guys so much for the best car buying experience ever!
My experience at Twin Pine Auto Group was excellent. All the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. I drove from Baltimore just to look at a truck and before I knew it I was taking a test drive to experience the drive and ride. It was GMC Truck. The staff was very busy and still was very responsive to my needs. My salesman John was very professional and I can not say enough for the rest of the staff taking care of every detail so efficient. I would highly recommend anyone from any state to come Twin Pine Auto for any vehicle that you are looking for. Again, I want to thank all of the staff for your professionalism. Also, all the staff are very courteous. Thank You.
My car shopping expercience was off to a HORRIBLE start, after looking online, and at multiple different dealerships I found the car that I had been looking for at twin pines. I was thrilled when I called and was treated with such respect and given answers right away! The customer service was amazing! The car that I had driven an hour and half to come and look at was parked out front ready to be taken for a test drive, and the salesman Wyatt, was organized and had answers, and right on top of everything. I can walk away with a smile and a good feeling about my purchase and I couldn't be more thankful for making my car buying expercience perfect!
There are more than 700,000 auto service technicians and mechanics in the U.S. Finding the right one to repair a dent in your car door or fix an engine that won't start can be overwhelming, especially when it's an emergency. Review a few important facts about auto repair professionals and what you can do to get the best possible mechanic working on your vehicle's issues for a fair price.
Looking For Reliability
Unlike home repair services that evaluate a property, meet with homeowners and have time to prepare before their physical work begins, auto repair businesses are often asked to make fixes on the spot. If you come into a garage with a tire issue, the expectation is the mechanic will know how to correct that problem quickly.
That is why reliability is so vital when searching for a trusted auto repair shop. It may take going to several different mechanics before you find one you are truly comfortable with. Pose questions to this professional to find out what approach they will take to repair your car or what alternatives are available. Shopping around also gives you the best opportunity to find the cheapest rate or the fastest service, as some garages may be backed up with other vehicles that need repair first.
A recommended way to locate a trustworthy auto repair professional is to seek out customer reviews. Online sites offer honest opinions from real customers who have used a business. Read through this feedback to learn how a business operates and what you can expect if you were to take your vehicle there. Look for reviews about how quick maintenance was completed and if prices were fair. By learning what other people have said about a garage, you can gain a better idea if it's the right place to go when you have a car problem in need of fixing.
It can be difficult to know which automotive problems are serious enough to require expert assistance. A ripped seat cushion or broken radio don't involve safety and will not warrant enough of a problem that going into a garage is required. However, setbacks with brakes, lights and other parts that are vital to the safety of your car's driver and passengers, as well as others on the road, necessitate quick fixes. Many modern automobiles will notify drivers of an issue, in the form of a signal on the dashboard or a noise within the vehicle.
In the event of an accident, even if your vehicle does not appear to have any damage on the outside, it is generally recommended that you see a trusted auto repair professional. Internal damage may have occurred, or an important part may have been knocked out of place. Fixing these issues before driving much further can prevent further vehicle breakdowns in the future. In the case of a serious accident, a body shop can assess the problems and determine the best course of action for repairs, as well as evaluate how much they will cost.
Beyond that, regular checkups are recommended. Tires must be rotated, fluids needs to be replaced and the engine must be evaluated. After driving 25,000 miles, most auto dealers suggest having the vehicle checked out to ensure everything is running smoothly. Taking the car into the auto repair professional you trust will protect you from further problems down the road.
Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop. At the same time, be aware of mechanic scams that can impact your experience.
Preventing Trips To The Professional
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage. By handling these types of tasks on your own, you'll gain a better understanding for how your car operates and save time and money.
Along with understanding how to fix manageable vehicle issues that may arise, taking preventative measures to avoid future problems is a valuable time saver. Many problem-solving best practices are related to the seasons. Your vehicle will be in different conditions in the winter than in the summer, meaning it requires a different type of preparation.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures the vehicle will be exposed to, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check your tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
There is a common worry among many people that auto repair professionals take advantage of the general public. Because so many people are unaware of how to fix the problems in their vehicle, they are nervous of being overcharged by mechanics or worried that the improper work is being done.
While the great majority of professionals in the industry are honest, hard-working people, a few bad apples can ruin everything. You should be extra careful when first visiting a mechanic to guarantee that the price you're charged and maintenance the vehicle receives are fair.
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you are in the shop and your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill.
The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done. That way, you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
By working closely with an auto repair professional and doing some of the tune-up work on your own, you will be less likely to fall for these scams. At the same time, you'll be able to drive out with a clean and healthy vehicle, thanks to the repairs made by a trained professional.
