I HAVE BEEN TO BOTH MIKATA'S SO GLAD ENTERPRISE FINALLY HAS ONE THIS IS MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT THE FOOD IS ALWAYS EXCELLENT AND COOKED TO PERFECTION STAFF IS ALWAYS FRIENDLY HUSBAND ALWAYS GET ME GIFT CARDS FOR BIRTHDAYS AND CHRISTMAS SO I CAN TAKE THEM ALSO LOVE THIS PLACE
We were seated at the grill and We experienced the majority of the dinner in a cloud of smoke. They said that the ventilation was broken and they didn't offer to move us in another spot. We were barely half way through our dinner before they gave us the bill. I wouldn't advice this place when there is Myory which is much better.
Food was delicious. BUT, It was the servers and owner that was HORRIBLE. 14 PEOPLE TO ONE COOK IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!
Went with a group of 15 to try Mikata for the first time. We hoped it would be similar to Dothan. Our waiter seemed very lost and did not know the difference between sushi and sashimi. Many of our sushi orders did not make it to the table until most of our meal was completed. The hibachi chef was talented and entertaining. When our check came 18% gratuity was added in with our meal. I do not mind paying 18% if I received that service. Our drinks stayed empty most of the evening. Our waiter could not answer our questions and was not familiar with the menu. I do not plan on going back any time soon.
