I feel very comfortable bringing my Porshe to Bill. I would have to agree that the horrible review must be misplaced, because they are always prompt, even when I don't have an appointment and are always able to figure things out. I know a thing. or two about cars, so I only need to bring mine in when I'm stumped.
Had an appointment Friday 2/10/17 for loud exhaust. The diagnosis was "replacement of the resonator pipe at $450, plus 2 hours labor", but the pipe would not be delivered until the next day. I agreed, & showed up the next morning at the listed opening time to find a sign on the front door saying that they "would not open today". I left them a note in the key drop>>"I agreed to come in today at your direction. You have my phone number & could have called me". A week passed, & I had time to inspect the leak. It was coming from the downpipe/resonator pipe flange junction, where the gasket sat....NO DEFECTIVE PIPE! So, I'm glad that Midas failed to notify me. I saved $575.00 for your faulty diagnosis. Don't ever bring your vehicle here!
Every time I get my car fixed here something else is wrong with it or I found out after spending so much money they didn't even touch my car..would not reccomend taking your car here.
PS. Given that business response below, you know they are just a$$holes working there. The battery was way too much and batteries are usually warrantied. I hope that unscrupulous business goes out of business. My story is down below (2006) where they ivercharged for AC diagnostic and messed up the window plus a year later, the car's engine went kaput. I think they added sugar in the tank or something. Anyway, the US post office in Enfield is their customer. Porcello's was bragging to me about good they were since US Post office hired them.. Anyway, call the post office and tell them that Porcello should not have a contract with the US govt considering how crooked they are. I called after reading all of your reviews. I was hoping this company goes out of business after what they did to our car back in 2006.
I have used this service garage and am on a first name basis with the owner. Bill has been nothing but honest in all my dealings with him for the past 5 years. He has saved me money by not fixing what was not broken and repairing the issue always costing me less than expected. I respect and appreciate his work ethic and honesty. I will bring my cars to L + S Auto Repair because he will treat me well. You can take that to the bank.
This is by far the WORST experience I have had with mechanics. I read the previous bad reviews and the UNSATISFACTORY rating by the Better Business Bureau. However, I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt hoping my experience was different, IT WAS NOT. They assessed my car and quoted prices for the parts upcharging MORE THAN THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP. When I asked about the discrepancy in prices, I was told that "this was a business for profit" and he had the right to do so. In a fit of desperation, I reluctantly agreed to let them do the the work. It took them a week and a day to complete something that would have routinely taken two days. THEY ORDERED THE WRONG PART 3 TIMES and then demanded payment in cash only after the car was complete while the Visa logo is on the door. STAY FAR FAR AWAY. I would never take my car to Purcello NOR would I recommend this business to anyone. Take hee
