Bergen Gastroenterology

I absolutely love Dr. Chung (rheumatologist) He is very caring, listens, and explains things well. The office staff is terrible. They don't listen when you ask question. So if the message does reach my doctor it's like a long chain of the telephone game. I recently had a prescription issue. My pharmacist phoned and left 2 messages. I left 4 messages to have my doctor call the pharmacy. The doctor never called my pharmacy. I had called starting at lunch time until 15 minutes to closing. Every time I actually speak to a human I feel I'm getting the brush off. They don't even have an option for the pharmacist to choose to speak to a staff member. They just dump everyone into a black hole of a voicemail. I waited at the pharmacy for more then an hour. I use a pharmacy near my work place. I didn't want to drive 45 minutes home and have to turn around to return to the pharmacy if they did call. Another problem is having a person who can't speak clearly (English) reviewing lab work. I was in the office the day before this phone call. I was in for a sinus infection and a doctor told the my lab work indicated an infection. This lady, who I could barely understand, called the day after my appointment to inform me that my lab work was all normal? Communication is poor. Instead of spending money on remodeling they need to train their staff! They would not have jobs if they it wasn't for us, the patients! They are too big and busy. There lack of staff and good staff is apparent! I work in a medical office and these standards of care by the doctors support staff is not up to par with the quality of the doctors. I know others have had unpleasant experiences with these offices. Maybe if more of us offered our opinion maybe changes could be made?

Never returned phone calls, dismissive of my current health issues and office unreliable and uncourteous to their patients needs and concerns. Office staff relayed false messages to doctor or doctor never received messages all together. Very surprised, since he was highly recommended as a Gastroenterologist.
