Take out may be fine but the restaurant is so dirty and grimy. The carpet, the bathrooms, the sticky tables- all disgusting. Teriyaki was ok but Mongolian beef was ketchup, corn syrup and stew meat.
We suspect the people running this are doing a food scam and playing dumb. It has happened twice. They told us one price for a to-go box of buffet food (they don't charge by the lb but rather by the box) and then charged us something 3 dollars higher after we had put our box together and went to pay. They then played dumb, actually getting real nervous when we tried to ask why we were getting charged so much. The first time I thought it was a fluke so I was very sure to ask about the price before filling up and they very clearly stated it was the cost of buffet plus one dollar for a to-go box but they charged us like 3 or 4 dollars more and then played dumb and claimed they told us a different price. I believe they are using a language barrier to scam customers they don't like or think take too much since it has happened twice. So far we have been scammed out of around 6 dollars on the two orders and definitely will not be going back. The food sucks anyways and they were empty of most things.
My husband and I try to make a point to visit China Inn at least once a month, driving from Cle Elum. We have been eating there for the last 20 years and find it to be excellent. Only twice in 20 years were we disappointed, which can occur at even a five star restaurant. The facility is clean and the staff are always very kind and efficient. We usually order two Shanghai dinners with one additional side of a beef dish. This is enough food for two dinners for us, which is a good deal all the way around. Keep up the good work folks! Their food isn't bad but the girl over there is so rude and unprofessional she has zero customer service skills. She didn't even look at me just through the order in my face. If there don't care about there customers then why go there
