I believe that their prices are way overpriced compared to other local companies. Their customer service is not the nicest either. I recommend calling around to other local companies who are not over charging you!

Due to illegible and horribly corroded gas gauges which made the 500-gallon tank unsafe to properly fill for which I asked to have either the gauges replaced or the tank replaced repeatedly over a 4 month time period I cancelled my account & requested that Schagrin Gas pick up its tank. The credit I got for 6 day old propane (they had just come to fill the tank without me knowing) was at the rate NINE YEARS ago when the tank was put in NOT what I just got charged. On top of that they want me to pay $215 for them to take back their unsafe tank. I was charged $99.95 to put the tank in back in 2009 & I have been paying to rent it ever since. Now they are charging to take back their dangerous tank too? This pickup fee is akin to me renting a car at the Philadelphia Airport and paying a daily rental fee with taxes and then having to pay another whopping fee when my rental period is complete to take their car back.



When the 500 gallon tank was full, it should have been at 80% capacity or 400 gallons. In looking at the 11/1/2009 contract it says I was charged for 425 gallons of propane which is 25 gallons over capacity. Schagrin however didn't use the 425 gallon figure when they figured out their credit. Either I was overcharged on 11/1/2009 for 25 extra gallons of propane or I was credited incorrectly for the amount of propane left in the tank when it was picked up on 6/4/2015.



I would NOT recommend this company for they have very unsafe and high-handed business practices. Even with written correspondence and dealing with them with patience until your afraid your house will blow up if they won't do something for the unsafe conditions they created, how they treat their customers can only be described as unbelievable.
