Colonial Arms Apts in Elkhart, IN

Start with the only 2 good things about the apartments. Spacious, and great layout.Reasons not to move into this crap hole.1. They left a NASTY dishwasher in my apartment for a MONTH after I moved in. The kitchen literally smelled like something DIED in it. DISGUSTING 2. Our infant daughter's bedroom window was cracked for 2 Months. We still do not have screens in either one of our bedroom windows.3. There is a major bug problem, earwigs EVERYWHERE. You see apparently the people before us smashed the sliding glass door and they replaced it, but didn't seal it all the way or something. I have witnissed SERVERAL earwigs and DOZENS of ants come from my patio door. They REFUSE to spray at least.4. They left that glass on my patio for 1-2 weeks after moving in.5. Had a problem with parking. Our neighbor had not 1 not 2 but 3 of her cars taking up the parking spots. We complain because we had to park far from our apartment. Carrying groceries and our infant daughter all that way is a hassle. In the lease it says 1 car allowed in front of the building. So what does the office biatch do? Knocks on my door and pulls the neighbor out to "resolve the conflict" they ARE NOT SUPPOSED to do that! That causes MORE CONFLICT!!6. I'm not blaming the kids WHATSOEVER but a little kid can't be more than 4 years old. Is outside day and NIGHT by himself. This kid has tried to break into my car, he stares through my sliding glass door, runs up and down the hallways day and night, and plays with the fuse box in the hallway. Where are the parents?7. Speaking of hallways. The hallway had NO FIRE EXTINGUISHER downstairs for a LONG time it looked like. I had to go down to the office and complain NUMEROUS times. After I threated to call code they got a new one put in.8. Still on the hallway subject. The hallway lights get completely SHUT OFF in the middle of the night (probably because the fuse box IS NOT LOCKED) plus the backs of the buildings DO NOT HAVE LIGHTS just patio lights. Unsafe feeling.9. Speaking of unsafe a person was shot and killed a year ago April 2013. THEN this year another person gets shot and killed MARCH 2014. Unsafe.10. 3 of my outlets DIDN'T work and it took them 3 months to fix those. The maintenance man SHOCKED HIMSELF because he didn't turn off the breaker. Can you say not certified?11. Closet doors are rigged.12. They don't clean the apartments out before they get new people in them. My kitch was STICKY drawers, floor, and walls.13. When we go into the office with a problem they get rude and dosrespectful with us. The one with the glass that is short with black hair ALWAYS gets crappy!14. They only have 2 maintenance men. They are both clearly uncertified.15. The "WASHER/DRYER hookup area is not big enough for a washer and dryer. So pick one!I could go on and on and on about this crap hole. Please do not move here. It is unsafe. Doesn't feel like a home.I also heared that they try to charge a bunch of fees when you move out. Try me I'm NOT PAYING ANYTHING but rent and renter's insurance.DON'T MOVE HERE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN!!

I enjoyed living at Walnut Trails for 3 years! I moved to Michigan a year ago and want to move back that is why I was looking for their phone #. So I look out all 21 reviews from the 1st reviewer and noticed he rated all 3 apartment a 1 star! One of them is the nicest Apts in town but can't afford to pay $950 a month. LOL So I will be moving back to Walnut. Huge apts for a great price and a very nice Manager whose been there for years. So looking for a great place to live Walnut is the place! Thanks for reading
