My husband and I had been in Berts a few times and found their ribs delicious. Today I was excited to bring my daughter-in-law and two and a half year old and fourteen month old grandchildren for lunch. It was a disaster.
We sat down to a table that was not cleaned off well, actually lots of food smudges on it and yet it was supposed to be clean. We were given the wrong menus and it took forever to get the attention of the waittress to bring us the lunch menu. I could tell she was put out that I asked for it by flagging her down.
Then we waited and waited for her to take our order. When she was close to the table near us I spoke out loud enough for her to hear us request that she take our order and she was very upset and said she had to wash her hands first from carrying ice creme to that table. She showed her anger toward me with her face and raising her hands to show me she had to wash them. When she came to take the order she gave me a dirty and mean look.
I asked her if there was anything wrong and she was very indignant and stated very curtly " I think the question is if there is anything wrong with you." I could not believe it. Then she accused me of being very rude and shouting at her to take our order. I explained that we had waited a while and we had children and just wanted her to take our order for we were ready. She continued to argue with me.
We left. I am not sure how to get ahold of the owner but I surely will try. This is not good for a restaurant's reputation. Of coures if people do not mind being treated this way than for sure go there.

I would have to say that the burgers and sandwiches are great!! I love the bacon mushroom swiss burger, bbq beef burger and the chicken mushroom sandwich. However, the mexican food, well for starters the beans are bland and too salty. They have huge chunks of herbs in their chicken that they use for both chicken enchiladas and chicken tacos. I would maybe suggest instead of serving refried beans maybe serve whole pinto beans and for the herbs maybe use herb infusers or cheese cloth to keep the herbs out of the chicken. It tastes really great but when you bite down and get a huge crunch of herb stem its not very appetizing and definately doesnt make you want to finish the meal. I hope they make improvements on the mexican food otherwise its a great lil joint to eat at!
