I've been taking my fur babies to Elgin Family Pet Center since moving to Manor in 2007. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I've seen 2 vets, Dr. Thevis, and Dr. Brandon. Both are extremely awesome! They are caring and knowledgeable! When my old gal was very sick and on her way to the rainbow bridge, Dr. Brandon actually came to my house to "help" her along. That shows true caring. They are a bit pricey, but worth it for the great quality of care.

My 'babies' have been going to Elgin Family Pet Center after moving to Elgin in 2006! I have been impressed with all the Veterinarians on staff, especially Dr Thevis, who has become our 'Primary Care Provider'! I have always been able to set up a visit in an urgent situation as well as for routine visits. I would highly recommend the practice. Reading some of the other reviews, I would have to say that I have always been given an estimate of services. Yes, it is costly, but find me one that isn't theses days! It is difficult to run a practice and pay all staff a living wage and charge people 1990 prices!

Elgin Vet use to be such an amazing, caring vet clinic. Now their only goal is obvious to anyone who walks thru the door, making money! It's a shame that such a great clinic has changed so much.

Once upon a time there was a great Veterinary Hospital in Elgin that cared about your pets. Then in 2007 it was split in to two places, the bovine/equestrian division and the family pet center which built a brand new building. Last year the pet center was bought out by two of the doctors and it has been on a downhill slide since.

It has become a money making machine for the physicians and animals are no longer a priority, money is. They did help my cat, but the cost of it was outrageous and never once did anyone talk to me about what it would all cost. I would like to think there were things that could have been postponed for a later time, but I was never offered that decision.

When I complained and asked to speak to the doctor, I was told he was doing paperwork and would get to me when he could. It seems he needed to make sure all of the billing was done so he could collect every penny, which was much more important than an upset patient in the waiting room. I waited for 15 mins for that to happen. He of course then tried to turn it around so it was all my fault. I sent an email detailing my dissatisfaction and received no response.

12 years I have been taking all of my animals here. I hope the Manor Veterinary Hospital treats me better since that is where my furbabies will be taken to from now on.

The staff are people & pet friendly! Spacious waiting area, individual--clean!--exam rooms, friendly staff, & great vets! We started seeing them for our two Westies & our dogs love all the special attention they get from the staff. When we took Delilah in for a dental cleaning I was impressed with the before & after photos. They didn't release her right away because they wanted to keep an eye on her as she recovered from the surgery. When I picked her up that evening they had her all cleaned up, gave her a cute pink bandanna, and she even smelled good! They had also trimmed her nails & fed her some stage 2 baby food turkey to help her feel better. They sent us home with an antibiotic & vetprofin, plus lots of samples of dental products so we could see what works for us before spending $ on something we wouldn't use. I like how the staff was realistic. I know I should brush my pets' teeth, but I just haven't made it a priority. The staff was understanding about this and never once made me feel like a bad pet parent, but instead asked questions and helped me come up with a few solutions. Take your pets here! You WILL NOT be disappointed!!!
