I made a huge mistake by going to Geralis the customer service was terrible they promised to deliver the product within 10 days and after I wasted 2 weeks with Gerali I had to cancel my order to lack of professionalism by the staff at Gerallis and after talking to the owner of the company it was clear that you can not deal with this company the owner clearly told me that if you don't like our services you can go elsewhere know that is what I call great customer service Mr Gerali that is the way you treat your customers avoid this company at all costs they are terrible !!!!
Sadly, I did not listen to the reviews and worked with Gerali Custom Design. They seem extrememly disorganized and have very poor cusotmer service skills. After being given the run around for weeks, finally had a contract signed and measurements completed. Only to have the rep call me 3 days later saying opps, the piece doesn't fit after all...you'll have to choose a different color. AFTER the floor had already been chosen based on the countertop color and installed. No apology! Not even after I explained about the floors being installed. I am now fearful that even if I choose a new color that the countertop will not be installed correctly. If they install anything like they do business...YIKES
I had my kitchen renovated through Home Depot and everything when great until me and my husband had to deal with Gerali's. Poor customer service skills and not professional at all! The measurer looked like he didn't even know what he was doing, that showed after waiting 4 weeks for them to make our countertop, and the countertop not fitting. The best part was that when they were bringing the countertop in they chipped three walls, and put a huge dent in one of my new cabinets. After rejecting to deal with this pathetic company, Home Depot set us up with another granite fabricator that where much, much better. Do not trust this company at all!
first off i would like to say that gerali is the worst company i have ever dealt with in my whole entie life i hope people know what a crap job they did andf the customer service was even worse yet. it started out on feb 16,2008 i went to home depot to order my uba tuba granite counter top with in 2 days they were suppose to contact me about thier measurment . i understood that because of a holiday they were a day late well in fact they were only 5 days late i contacted the home depot expediter to inform them no one had contacted me for my measurment and the home depot gave me the direct number to gerali. i contacted and left 4 messages before i finally got a hold of a person to actual get my measurment date. the day of measurment a week and a half after the fact the representative from the company came out and took his measurments and i had asked how long it would take for my counter to be made and installed he told me 10 days . now to let people know when u go to home depot thier statement in writing is from the time of payment till the install date should not be more than 3 weeks total well this is over a month and a week going and my job is still not completed. thier staff is incompetant to do any service not even with a child. the day of install finally march 17,2008 they did come out finally installed half the job and when they waited for 2 1/2 hrs while they played with my cat for thier field supervisor to come out and help them with them over sized piece of material he finally arrived and as they were comming in my house the installer that was in the middle of the slab did not have a good grip on the slab, it slipped from his hands and as he went to save it the piece of slab broke in half.after the field supervisor saw the piece broke he jumped in his truck and squeled his tired in front of my house cuz he was mad. how do you think i felt that i had to wait almost a month for my counter tops . i was soooo unfound with words but i understtod that things can happen. than i got a hold of the company and they expedited the piece for an install date of fri march 21,2008 from a time frame of 8 am to 1 pm for install. as 1:30 rolled around i was just curious what had happened to the installers so i phoned the company . which in fact than told me that as they were loading the material into the truck it had broke again. first off if they had any common sense and they as a business that has been in business for years that they dont know how to make a counter top should no longer be in business they made no attempt to contact me to let me know what happened . i think that that is the worse customer service ever. the service reps are rude and when i ask to speak to a manager or the owner i get the run around. so i went back to home depot and cancelled my order and asked for a full refund which they were upset since they know im a good customer of thiers. the manager of the mchenry home depot was very nice and gave me a full refund and tried to help me in every way possible that he could
Gerali Custom Designs is the subcontractor for Home Depot that installed our Corian Countertops. We had no problems until we had a seam separation about 2 months after the install. I was told this would be a simple fix. However they sent out a poorly trained crew that had no clue how to properly repair the counter, They sanded the area for over 5 hours with a belt sander, pitting and damaging the counter. They also burned 2 area rugs when they set down a heat gun. No offer to replace the damaged rugs. They insisted on being allowed to try to fix the damage they did to the counter. The first attempt left us with a visible sloping area in the counter as the repair person tried to "feather out" the damage. The second attempt, in order to make the top surface flat or within 1/16" of an inch, they shimmed the bottom of the countertop up, with 3/16 to 1/8" shims over 4 feet. Thus, the original damage was a 5/32 deep rut. They had to feather out around 24 inches to either side of the original joint. DuPont flatness specs on a 4-foot section is less than 16" (.0625), and the seam cannot be visible 24-30 inches away. In the end they sanded off even more material so the counter has a visble change in thickness from one side to the other
At this point we insisted the counter top be replaced with what we had purchased...a new counter top, since the damage was not caused by any negligence on our part, but on theirs. They have refused and currently this matter is under review by Home Depot. Be warned that Gerali does not always use DuPont Certified installers and repair crews as required by DuPont for the warranty. We only discovered this after the first crew damaged the counters. The repair person who attempted to fix the damage from the first crew was certified, and all of this could've been prevented had he been sent out in the first place.
We are very disappointed. We had a new countertop for a few months. Now they are trying to force us to accept a defective countertop. Seems unfair to have to pay $1600 for a damaged countertop. We will have to replace this damaged countertop before we can sell our home.
