Dr. Vinson Nance is an excellent optometrist, but his staff leaves much to desire. The only person I can confidently say provides good customer service is the young lady that works the front desk and assists with eye exams. She is professional and polite. The heavy set lady gives a new meaning to the word discourteous. She is absolutely clueless on how to provide good customer service and is downright rude. It is beyond me as to how she has remained employed there. The man that handles the optical is impolite and unprofessional as well. He does not want to take the time to explain to customers what options are available and quite frankly has extensive communication issues. He clearly does not know how to articulate his thoughts when explaining the various glasses available and the differences for each one. His personal appearance is grossly offensive as his uniform and shoes always seem to be dirty. This was my first experience with an optometrist since moving to El Paso and I won't be returning there except to get an eye exam. I hope my review assists potential customers. My recommendation is to see Dr. Nance as he is a superlative optometrist, but take your prescription elsewhere so you don't have to deal with his ill-mannered staff.




Had an appt scheduled for 4:00, after having an eye emergency. Sat for 2 hours, asked when i would be assisted and the ladies told me "whenever the doctor gets around to you". I left after that, ridiculous.



Who is to blame?

This Dr. is good for glasses but my experience with contacts has not been good. I am going on a year in October and he still has not gotten it right. The girls up front are nice, but like everywhere lacking communication. I will not be going back to this office.




I would recommend this doctor for glasses but if you have special vision for contacts it may take a year for you to finally get them. I have been going to this office since Oct 2007, my insurance has already paid him and so have I but I have not yet received my contacts. I figured he was a specialist and would not have any problems fitting me, but I was wrong. Ok maybe I am not ment to wear contacts, just tell me that!
