The Edwardsville Police Department works to provide law enforcement services and ensures the safety and security of citizens. It is comprised of more than 50 full and part-time employees. The department employs several patrol officers who serve as liaisons to neighborhood groups, businesses and elected officials. The Edwardsville Police Department files reports of suspected criminal activities and offers various online crime statistics. It hosts School Resource Officer (SRO) and TRIAD programs that provide law enforcement education to citizens. The department also supports Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), which is an educational classroom program that helps to prevent drug abuse and violence among children.
