FOUND A FLY! We sent 1 steak back, to be cooked as per our order. Took half my sandwich home. So glad I did. Opened it up, and inside was a large freshly dead FLY. You could tell it landed on the hamburger, then, they put the bun on top! I was sure glad I decided to not eat that half at OUTBACK!!!!! Wish I would have taken a picture.

Went here tonight for my daughter's 20th birthday. She and I both ordered sirloins (MEDIUM WELL) with grilled shrimp (and sides). My wife ordered fried shrimp, and my daughter's boyfriend ordered chicken fried steak. I guess we should have taken it as a bad omen when they brought out the bread and it was stale and hard to the core. After beating it on the table a few times for laughs, we sent it back, and got another, which was better. Our orders came out, and my steak was MEDIUM RARE (bloody) but burned on the outside, as was my daughter's. Along with that, the grilled shrimp were cold, and so were the sauteed mushrooms I ordered. My steak was so bloody that it made me sick to my stomach, so I lost my appetite and just asked the waitress to keep mine. My daughter asked for hers to be re-cooked. As for my wife's meal, she got fried shrimp and a sweet potato. Both were cooked right, and she enjoyed them. The boyfriend said his chicken fried steak was good, but then showed us his fries which were limp and droopy from not being fried long enough, so he didn't eat them.After a while, they brought my daughter's meal out again, and this time it was more rare and bloody than before, but once again burned on the outside. When she tried to cut the steak, blood squirted out. I understand some people like their steaks this way, but NOT us. So, after that, my daughter lost her appetite as well. The owner, who I will give credit to being a very nice lady, had brought my daughter's steak out the 2nd time and apologized for the situation. She left before my daughter cut it open tho. So we sat there, and after a few minutes she returned. She asked how it was, so I asked her to look at it herself, which she did. She then tried to tell us that medium well steaks are pink all the way through. My daughter told her "No they aren't, and they aren't bloody either". So my daughter asked her just to take her plate as well as she no longer had any desire to eat. What I don't get about all of this is, if someone sends back a steak because it's bloody and not cooked enough, why don't the cooks check it BEFORE sending it back out again??? Every other restaurant I've ever been to that botched it made sure they checked it before sending it back out. We were polite to the owner, and she was polite as well. She was kind enough to send us home with a piece of cheesecake. That was nice. I sure would have liked to have had a proper cooked steak and warm shrimp and mushrooms tho like I went there for. Now I'm home, and finally hungry again. Ugh. I just can't give this place more than a 1 star, despite the owner being really nice. Stale bread, under-cooked fries, cold (grilled) shrimp, cold sauteed mushrooms and bloody steaks (twice) that were supposed to be medium well..... it just doesn't deserve more than 1 star. It also explains why the place was near empty on a Friday night. All in all though, at least were were able to laugh about it. As we got up to leave I asked my daughter if she named her pet cow before she gave it back; she said "Yep, Old Bessy"...... Sometimes keeping a sense of humor makes all the difference.
I'm so disappointed with this outback take away service, I'm hoping it's not as bad as dining in. .. this is the THIRD time we tried to eat at outback! First time was the outback on NW expressway, my bf ordered the 11oz pack special medium cooked and I ordered the chicken on the barbie. I don't even know how they did this but his steak was cooked (or should I say not cooked) in certain spots and extremely well done in others, my chicken was so hard you couldn't even chew it.. called them and they were really nice about it and sent us"tuck aways". 2nd try went to the Edmond one and again orders the same thing, his steak was extremely well done and almost black, but my chicken was really good and juicy... so called them and the manager was really nice and even though I kept telling her we did not need tuck aways and that I was just letting her know she still said she wanted to make it right and was sending them, that was Friday and said they'd be here by Tuesday. Friday comes rolling around and the tuck aways aren't here so called back and they said they'd comp the steak and I ordered our usual... when I got there I paid for my chicken and the manager was really nice and came out to my car to apologize. When I got home I don't think any of our food could of been worse; his steak was so rare it was very difficult to cut and almost slimy textured, my chicken was pink and had a bad smell to it, our bread was rock hard, even our salads had thousand island dressing when I asked for ranch and his potatoe was way over cooked! I'm not even going to call back I'm so disappointed and disgusted with them, we have been eating outback for many many years and it has always been good, I don't know if they've recently made some sort of change in cooks or meats but I'm so frustrated I want to cry. I gave them the chances and we will not be eating pack for a very long time or at any of these locations!
I've been going here since they opened in the early 80's. It looks exactly the same and I like that. Very consistent, very clean, good meals, great salad bar with hot food items, reasonable price, very friendly staff (much of the them have been there many years). Will definitely keep going back.
