When I first moved to this area in 1997, I was told to fill out an application to have my water turned on. My water was turned on promptly, but on this app they wanted to know what company financed my home and the account mumber. I was called and said they needed it and threatened to turn my water off. Just as they promised my water was turned off in the middle of a shower, it wasn't none of their business who financed my home as long as my job history and credit checked out! They definitely have you under their thumb!
The woman who claims to be the owner is the definition of hypocrisy. They post holier-than-thou quotes on their bills however they clearly aren't true Christians. They require you to drive out to their location to pay your first payment. After that your only option is to mail a payment. If you mail it a week in advance but the mail is delayed for any reason, even by a day, they will charge you an exorbitant late fee (23%). If you call for any kind of "customer service" you are treated extremely rudely and they will do nothing to work with you. I was told "I know you mailed it on time but that's not our fault, call the post office". I have never been treated so rudely, and this was by the woman who claimed to be the owner. The only reason they are still in business is because they have a monopoly on the market, we have no other option. Hopefully our community can find a way to acquire a different service.
Someone please look into this company! They are rude and have an awful billing system. They hold checks and deposit them after the due date and then charge me a late fee. I agree with everyone on here and to the person who wrote that this is the "best utility company"....I'm willing to put money on it and say that you work for them. It would be nice if they cared about the company enough to join the BBB. This has gone on long enough.
This water company is the most horrible company I have ever had to deal with but yet, here in Bryan COUNTY(Richmond Hill) we have no other choic but to use this horrible company! Every time I call or my husband calls, the people there are rude and very unhelpful. The water at our house is extremely cloudy, nasty and smells of rotten eggs! About a week ago our water started backing up into our house, we rented an electric snake and cleaned the pipe out front but a couple days later it backed up again. I called the water company because we also pay for sewage, I got a rude lady on the phone and when I asked if we were on sewage or septic tank, I got rudely answered with "you are on both sewage and septic, sounds like to me you need to be calling someone to pump your tank." So, we pay sewage for what?? Sounds like we are getting screwed out of our money and we have to deal with rude people when we deal with them. Come on richmond hill and get us some city sewage so we have an option!!!!! Please! The one star, is only because I had to give a star to comment on them, they don't deserve a star at all, in my opinion they need to be closed down!
I have had many water companies in my day, and none of them had the exceptional service this one does. The ladies that work in the office have never had one rude or nasty thing to say. I keep up with payments so there is never a problem with that and everytime i have called they have been nothing but helpful. I hope that if i ever have to deal with another water they can be half as good Lakeside is to its customers.
I have been a customer of Lakeside water for several years and Lillian sums it up. why they are so nasty i don't know. I am always on time paying. have had 2 water leaks in 20 yrs. was told to bring in a repair bill and some of the excess bill would be removed. they lie. they claim because there wasn't a "letterhead" on my receipt they wouldn't except it. I thought when they joined a church it would help the attitude. it hasn't.hope they will learn what being a Christian really means. be happy when we have city water. tired of the BLEACH smell or rotten egg smell.

I agree with the previous poster!! This company is ridiculous! I plan to petition all areas whom are forced to use this provider and educate those on how to file complaints regarding incorrect meter reading (Pay close attention to yours I recommend notating your own reading for the record). Only public knowledge and a village can bring this company into compliance! Illegal over charges, ungoverned penalties and erroneous fee are being charged to hard working individuals who have no choice but to PAY! If you neglect to fall short one dollar (seriously) on your bill, your service will be disrupted and $50 disconnect fee will apply along with a $10 late fee and get this???? ANOTHER $50 re-connect fee?? I would like to know who would approve such fees. No other utility service has been permitted to charge such outrageous fees!! GO FIGURE. For instance.... the water bill can be confusing to some with respect to when your bill is due, in black bold text it gives a full amount due date & amount, however you must read the (red) FINE PRINT.. Very misleading in my opinion!!!!! They even have the nerve to use biblical verses on the bills... for what? Redemption!! Be very aware Folks to the deceptions of this company!!!
I have been a customer with them for about 2 years now and every time I call for just a simple question I am treated very rudely and most often hung up on. I find it hard to believe that the handful of times I have called over the past 2 years that they their always just having a bad day. They have quoted "they can do whatever they want to their customer"!!! They said we do not have an option on water companies out here in Richmond hill and that they can do whatever they want and believe me, they do. They will not refund your water deposit of 150 no matter how good your payment history is, everytime you call they make up more excuses and are extreamly extreamly rude for no reason! I have talked to dozens of local people who cannot get their deposit back either and who have the same issues with them including 2 local attorneys in our area all with same complaint. This behavior cannot be accepted and I strongly in courage you to contact are local better business office to put this company to a stop.they have no right to treat there customers this way, we are the ones who keep them in business and give them jobs. They have also moved 3 times in the past year... what for? They are without a doubt the most inconsiderate, rude, shady and meanest people I have ever delt with in a business hands down.
