Really dirty. Unprofessional. ...

Really dirty. Unprofessional. Run down.

I had my usual hairstylists that I would see throughout the years, back when I was growing up & in college.Even my wedding.

Needless to say, I have been going to Starr Sister's forever, they were always there during my up bringing & lifetime events.

I do not live in Eau Claire anymore & try to stop in when I'm in town.

To my surprise, all the usual hairstylists I had, LEFT ! They are not working there anymore! Even the owner who had done my hair a few times, many years ago, was not there at that time either! There was only one stylist I recognized & she was booked. I have NEVER seen such a large turn over rate there!

The owner's son,who was behind the desk, convinced me to give a newer stylist a try with 25% off. So I did. (which was a mistake)

Then after he offered me coffee, he directed me where to get it, as soon as I showed interest. Classy.

The girl who trimmed my hair was scared. She forgot to put the kick stand out, so my feet dangled while I got my hair washed. She rushed thru the scalp massage, got water down my back, took an hour to trim & gave me a basic blow dry style (that I could've done better at home)

Now, there was a time when this salon was "it". The only place to go for your hair. It used to be fun & funky. Everyone there was happy & professional.

Now the only funky thing about that place is the black mold growing in the wall IV bags.

The walls look as though they are screaming for a fresh coat of paint.

The art that was once fun, is smothered with inches of dust & outdated, since it's all the same art from years ago. NOTHING CHANGED.

The place has poor ventilation which makes one wonder what they could be inhaling since this old building's ceiling is crumbling with old insulation hanging open & large holes exposed. Can we say public health hazard?

Last but not least, when I went to check out, the receptionist didn't even make eye contact. He was very into his laptop at the time & could only draw enough attention away, to take my money.

I would've thought that since I was there, giving HIS family business, a little more appreciation & respect would have been an obvious for him.

My tradition to going to Starr's Sister is over.

The place went from being "it" to the "has been".

I don't expect allot.

Apparently, its too much to ask for customer appreciation in a well maintained clean salon.

It's time I said thanks

I've been a Starrs Sister client now for the last 15 years or so and I just want to finally take the time to give a huge thank you for the consistent high quality service, experience, and technical skill that has been shown over that time. From the first stylist I began with to the current one (Georgia), all have been wonderful. Thanks again, good job.

whoever wants their day to be perfect

I check this site every now&then.
There has'nt been many reviews until recently, but I haven't seen much about the stylist who has made my special day feel perfect.

I went to pre grad in Eau Claire,my roomate(whos from Eau Claire,WI) told me that it was the only place to go to get your hair done...I trusted her,her hair always looked great.
Back then, she said to go to(Carmen)who isn't there anymore.

My husband is from the Eau Claire area & we thought it be best to get married in the city where we met.
I was nervous about trying someone new for the day we were to get married espicially since I had'nt been there in years. We have been living in Chicago,ILL for years & Im picky.

When I went to visit his family for a few days & also thought it be best to make appointments at different salons,on different days(in Eau Claire,WI)with different hairstylists,so i can test their abilities on the style I wanted for my wedding.
I wanted to make sure that my style not only looked good when I left but also still looked great by midnight.

I found the stylist at Starr Sisters.
I booked my whole wedding party.
I had ""Emily"",but all the other girls there did a great job also!
No complaints!

It took time to do my style, but it was perfect!! It stayed all day&all night. When she was done, she even had me shake my head as hard as I could,to make sure my style would look great no matter what!! It even kept its shape the next morning!!
Trust me!!!
If you want you hair to look like you just came out of a magizine...go there!!!

I had tried three other salons in that area & no one could compare to the quality I & my bridemaids had!
Its worth the money.
All my pictures look great,no matter what angle or how late in the evening it was.
If contact me,I can give the website of the company who did my photos...its been 2yrs,but I think they used them in a was that good!!

I was very disappointed with my experience. I will never go back and I will tell everyone NOT to go there. I was to get a STYLE for my sister's wedding. I unfortunately was running late due to construction and wrong directions. I called my sister and asked if they would shill have time to do the STYLE if not would find some place else. They said they had the time. So I got there and when the stylist sidney asked what I wanted I said what ever she could get done. I was to get a STYLE at $25.00 and instead she did and updo which cost me $50.00. I had no time to argue at that time and figured I could call and complain later as my sister was getting married in a few hours. I left not satisfied with what it looked like. I got to the site where my sister was getting married and after 15 minutes my hair fell out on top of not getting what I wanted. So I spent and 1 1/2hours redoing my hair. I called and spoke with the manager patty and asked for a refund or credit of some sort and was told that she had to ask the boss. I didn't get a call back after a week so I called again. she still hadn't talked with the boss and then a few days later finally called and told me they don't do any refunds for updo's. Patty said she would talk to the stylist sidney to see if she would give me some sort of refund my surprise I haven't heard back in 3 weeks it is now 9/30/08. Go figure - I wish I would've read some of these other comments before I went there. But too late now but I will try to warn as many people as I can at the rude, unpleasant, crabby, selfish salon and staff at Starr Sister's in Eau Claire. Please forward to friends and family so they don't get screwed.
