I purchased LED Lights at the Jeffersonville Indiana Store. The lights caught fire in my home within 5 minutes of installation. I went back to the store with the burned light fixtures and LED bulbs. The store manager filled out a complaint form and gave me credit for the LED lights. Then placed the LED lights back on the retail shelf for re sale. The store manager had know concern for the fire hazard the product caused or damages to my home. Menards not only lost 1 customer, but I will tell all my Family and Friends of the dangerous experience I had with their products and the store manager. I found that the LED lights have had a recall issued, yet Menards is still selling a defective product and exposing people to potential losses and death. But no one cares. I even contacted the corporate office and was told to call someone else.
Menards has lost another customer... and statistically 10 more after this! I live 1.15 miles from a Menards location in Tipp City, OH and have frequented this location for nearly 4 years with continued frustration. The last straw... what retail outlet waits to have 0 of an item before they order more of anything?!?! Paint, light fixtures, screws, plants, windows! these are the common "in stock" items I have gone in to purchase and nope... And to top it off their "customer service" number simply is an automated system to instruct you to mail a letter or fill out a form at your local store, not even an option to speak with a live person or a hope the issue will be fixed. I will drive the extra 10 miles to Lowes right past this store for materials to complete the renovations on my home.
